Wow, you've got everything. Same wallpaper I use, too, ha.
I've actually been waiting to get my basement back, since I missed it in WW.
Now it's been returned to its former glory (minus NES games)!

Too bad you can't see my bowling alley on the other side of the room in this shot...

nah, not everything, I just took advantage of my almost full WW catalog and a five point special, That basement looks awesome, I hope I get it too one day. Also, why do people want the basement back? isn't it just another room?

Re: (Wii) Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City/ City Folk/ Machi he ikou

I dunno about others, but the basement was the coolest part of my GC house because of that "basement-y"-type stuff that went in it. It was basically a game room. It's just fun to have 'cause it looks cool. But yeah, it's just another room (the same size as the first floor's final expansion, if I'm not mistaken). This time you can actually put up wallpaper and carpet in the basement (whereas in ACGC you couldn't).

Re: (Wii) Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City/ City Folk/ Machi he ikou

But now the question is: Is this game worth getting? One of my main concerns is to do with how time-unfriendly the GC version was (I haven't played the DS one), what with weeds piling up and townsfolk disliking you while you're not playing. :/

Re: (Wii) Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City/ City Folk/ Machi he ikou

^ Pretty much unchanged in that regard. You can go for days and even sometimes weeks, but beyond that, your town dies away. There is a ghost you can find every Monday at 2 in the morning or so (I think?) that can clear every single weed from your town, though.

Edit: Although the villagers liking you doesn't seem to do anything. They'll just be all "I haven't seen you in [x] weeks!" and continue talking to you like normal. The only thing that can happen is villagers can move away in that time.

That last bit's good to know.

Sounds like normal. It's the bolded bit which always really bugged me.

Would you call this game an improvement over the original Animal Crossing?

Re: (Wii) Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City/ City Folk/ Machi he ikou

^ Hmm... that's a tough one.
I still think I enjoyed the original a lot more, but I'm inclined to say that's because it was my first time playing the series and I didn't know what to expect.

It definitely has improvements over the original, but there are also things that feel lacking in this game. In any case, it's far better than Wild World.

I'd say if you played one or the other (but NOT both, because then it's mostly the same stuff), it might be worth a look, but only if you enjoyed the other game (obviously).

Just don't set expectations too high, because they really didn't try to upgrade the series.

By "one or the other" you're referring to WW & CF? If so, then I think I see your point, considering what's been said in this thread already.

I see. *puts AC:CF on previously empty birthday list*

Re: (Wii) Animal Crossing: Let's go to the City/ City Folk/ Machi he ikou

By "one or the other" I meant between the original and WW.
Though it's not a totally accurate way to describe it, this game is somewhere in between ACGC and WW as far as what it's made of. It kinda mixes elements from both.
Thus, if you've played both of them (and you said you haven't played WW), it would be pretty repetitive.
Despite that, it still manages to be fun to me somehow.

Every 3 months. And there's a sale held right before she changes stock, so everything is at discounted prices (and yet still ridiculously expensive).

Can you hack in this game like in AC:WW?
