''Wiiën'': dutch Word of the Year 2008? Vote!
You heard it right, the Wii might get its own verb in the dutch language! If ''Wiiën''(to Wii) wins, it'll be added to the Van Dale dictionairy, making it an official word.

They just can't say "Wii" like the rest of us?
Anyways, I think this goes to show how much popularity the Wii has been getting. The fact that an entirely new word was added to a language's dictionary sort of says something -- sort of.

I've been hearing that godforsaken language for almost 20 years and never have I heard the word "Wiiën". But if I ever were to catch someone saying that word IRL, he'd be getting lead pipe to his face from me.
To be fair, I haven't heard any of these words except for maybe "Bankendomino". My personal favourite has got to be "Hufterindex" ("bastard index"), though. :3
