Game of the Year 2008

Pfft, GTA4 my ass. GTA 3 was the only one I could stand, because afer that they ARE ALL THE SAME. GTA4 = most overly hyped game of all time I reakon. So many better games for the 360. (And I don't even have one)
There, thats my rant on a game series that has run it's course.

Nintendo had a shocking year. Brawl would win if it was Nintendo only. However, thats not the way it works.
The best thing they have had since Wii came out was Metroid Prime 3. Shame that was last year. And Mario Galazy was fairly good. TP was... ok...

I think MGS4 could take the title, or Fable 2. Both were amazing. I did enjoy MG more though. Although GoW2 and Fallout3 are up there too.

I think I'm a Valve fanboy. So yeah, I'm hoping Left 4 Dead is pretty high up there, at least for PC. I can't tell you how much fun I've had with it.

So true. Best PC game this year for sure. I have played it so much.

But I don't think it will win GOTY. Console titles usually take the crown, and it is mainly co-op, no storyline etc. Not that I care, it's still fantastic.

Not as good as TF2 though, I reakon that was the best PC FPS ever. Yeah, better than CS:S.

Have you even played the game? And how can you assume its sub par compared to other 360 games when you haven't even played those "other" games?

Game of the Year isn't usually decided based on the actual amount of developers that lent a helping hand to make a game.

Yes, I have played it, alot. (All my friends are XBox fanboys)
I found it to be no different to any other GTA game, I was not fullfilled at all after hearing 'best GTA evers' and 'greatest game evers'.
It had nothing that I enjoyed that the other GTA's havn't already provided.

It all comes down to personal opinions. But judging by the fact that GTA IV received raved reviews, it's hard to imagine that GTA IV won't receive some awards.

On a site note: Brawl Galaxy is easily considered (by most) the best game on the Wii thus far.

This was a terrible year in gaming.

It was the exact oppisote in my opinon. We had SSBB, MGS4, GTA4, LBP, Fable 2, GoW2, and many other big games.

GTAIV is time mags. game of the year... Wierd pick...

Not really if you consider the amount of hype/popularity/controversy that game enjoys and the fact that it's multiplatform.

Also, I consider Prince of Persia to be the game of the year...

I just would have pictured it being more of a commonly picked game that would get it. From what i heard anyway, GTA4 is the least favoured out of the big 5, just from the amount of people i hear talking about the other games for goty. The big 5 being: Mgs4, LBP, Fallout 3, Gears 2, GTA4, and Brawl. ( lot of people saying that too, but it's not gunna happen... anywhere, i dont think anyway)
