Who's doing the voting, the industry or the fanboys? I just hope it's the lesser of the two evils (the industry).

I hope either Spore or Little Big Planet gets the award just because they went out and did something original, but Metal Gear Solid 4 might get it (but it's a movie, not a game).

I only have a Wii as a main console, and for that, Zack and Wiki or SSBB should win.

Otherwise, Spore, Portal, MGS4, or CoD5 are good contenders.

Okami, LittleBigPlanet and Fable II are worthy, I believe. Brawl is superb, but too flawed like a lot of other people have said. These three games all seemed to achieve something much bigger - such as innovation, a unique artistic style, and an emotional and diverse adventure.

Where is every one getting this from? I dont really know how to phrase this... Im gunna watch the spike game awards. Is that were everyone else is going to judge by GOTY?

The Wii Game of The Year is, without a doubt, Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

Nah, there were plenty of good looking Wii games released this year, or planned for release this year.

I like mario kart wii, and no more heros was ok. Also, Resident evil 4: wii. I dont know what year that was though.

Fallout 3 will get game of the year. Guaranteed.

Gears of War 2 will probably win a couple, that's what I'd vote for.

I really doubt Gear of War 2 will be as GOTY winning as we think. It's a good game but really lacks story, gameplay and graphics are great but GTA IV, Fallout 3, MGS 4 and possibly Prince of Persia are much more worthy.

I seem to remember the original winning several GOTY awards.

GTA IV will probably get it. It had the best reviews of the year, and even though it came out near the beginning of the year and plenty of great games have come out since, it'll be coming out on PC next week, surely to renewed interest. However, this could be an opportunity for more objective reviews, since the luster may have worn off a bit. But, the PC version is also typically more polished, so it could garner praise.

I'm putting my money on GTA IV. Overrated it may be, but it's still an amazing game. Hell I'm still having fun with it. MGS4 will probably be runner-up. I doubt Brawl has a chance though.

If I were a judge... I'd pick it based off of originality. (well for the most part)
And LBP takes the cake there... It's been a while since a game like that has been made.
In a world with FPS, TPS, and FPS... LBP was an amazing change!

Lol, yeah, kinda getting tired off all the different forms of shooters.

I think I'm a Valve fanboy. So yeah, I'm hoping Left 4 Dead is pretty high up there, at least for PC. I can't tell you how much fun I've had with it.

There have been a crazy amount of amazing games released for some reason this year (and I'll be the last to complain). Too bad I'm a poor college guy with not enough money.

MGS4 was a little overrated in my opinion. Game play is fun. But it was kinda short and easy.

Dead space was awesome. Different than every other shooter I've ever played.

LBP is just so different. I've never seen anything quite like it work so well.

SSBB. At the Metagame this will probably get more gameplay than all the others. And can get more replay value than MGS4, Dead Space and LBP. And will probably stand out the most in 5 years because of this.

The WoW expansion: Wrath of the Lich King is good. Tons more replay and gameplay than all the others. I doubt it will even be nominated though.
