I find it a too obvious 'midi' to be compared, but I still appreciate it... just in a different way.

The original Prime was amazing, that should be noted.

Otherwise, Super Mario Galaxy is the best music that Nintendo has produced in years. The last time before Galaxy that Koji Kondo made something as good was Ocarina of Time. Since then, the Zelda series has done nothing but remix and recycle the previous Zelda games' music for any of the significant tracks.

I should say some of the Wii ____ music isn't without its charm, but that's comparing apples to oranges.

My favorite part of Ocarina's soundtrack was the ocarina warp songs. Otherwise, I think Wind Waker had the better soundtrack.

Of course, Galaxy trumps them both, because the songs are both amazing and orchestrated.

Haha, OoT had a bunch of remixes itself.

Though I wouldn't say another game's soundtrack tops it. MM, WW and TP's were all excellent, but one thing I firmly believe OoT hasn't been one-up'd in is the music.

Unless you meant within the Zelda series, which is debatable. Or within Nintendo games, which is extremely debatable.

The Zelda series, of course. Which, yes, is debatable depending on who you talk to.

In that case, I guess I can see what you mean. WW had songs that made me just stop and listen, but there were fewer of them. And OoT did have those ocarina songs, which were masterpieces all on their own. (I was happy when TP turned the serenade of water into a full fledged song)

Well my top 5 would be these:

Pokemon Red + Blue - Celedon City.
I love this track and have since I first played Pokemon.

Pokemon Red + Blue - Gym Leader Battle
Same reason as above.

Super Mario 64 - End Credits
A really nice track that I could listen to for ages.

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Staff Roll
Another nice track that I really like.

Super Mario 64 'Bob-omb Battlefield'
I have liked this one ever since I played Super Mario 64 for the first time. A classic.

I hate how Nintendo isn't doing anything with the Chrono Trigger series. They do ****ty games like Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem, but not Chrono Trigger?
