Yeah haha, I wasn't sure if he knew it wasn't XIII or not.

Hey, we haven't seen the finishing moves the summons do yet right? I hope they still manage to make them epic, with them being mechanical and all.

so the only summon(that we know of) thats without a chracter is Ifrit.
Unless there's abother character that we dont know about I'm going to go on a limb and say Ifrit is an optional summon.

I'm doubting there will be more than one summon per playable character, which is a real shame. Anima and Magus Sisters were amazing in X, and were both optional. Even earlier Final Fantasy games let you have multiple summons per character.

I'd love to be proven wrong though! Bring on the summons.

Anima was and still is my favorite summon. If only Seymour wasnt such a fag (lol Bikers) of a character.

Anyway, I personally grow tired of summons and try to diminish their use. In FFVIII, GFs were so annoying to summon, but the summoning ability later becomes useless when you know how to exploit good magic on the junction system. I was hoping for a similar system in XIII since junctioning is just too fun.

But all of the Final Fantasy nubs didn't like it because it was TOO MUCH TO HANDLE! But yeah, XIII's system doesn't look like it's going to be as good as the junction system from VIII (as wild as that claim is.) I'm just basing this off of the tiny scan image looking somewhat like a Sphere Grid. Hopefully, it's way better than the junction system.

I'm warming up to the design though, unlike Bahamut the design actually looks somewhat sensible and I like the fortress idea. Alexander being split into pieces is a concept already used in FFXI anyway, so it's not alien to FF at all.

Some details about the use of chocobos in FFXIII:

- Chocobos have health meters represented by feathers
- Each time you get attacked by an enemy on the field, the chocobo loses a feather
- When the health meter is depleted, the chocobo will escape, leaving you without a ride
- The chocobo can also find hidden treasures on the field. If you see a ! appears over the chocobo's head, you can try digging for treasure
