I have heard alot about gamesharks but what exactly are they? What do they do? And where can I get them? I have always wondered what GameSharks are. Any help?

Re: Gamesharks.
A gameshark is a code machine that lets you do all kinds of cheap, crazy stuff to your games.
Things like: unlimited items, invincible, invisible, all levels unlocked, max stats and stuff like that. I strongly suggest that you DONT get one. They will seriously mess up your systems, I used one on my FFIX file, to see if I could beat Ozma, and it messed up my file beyond repair, I was lucky to have a back-up file. That, and they are cheating, theres no fun in it. If you dont care to listen to my arguments, then go and get one. Lots of gamshops carry them, Walmart probably has them. If those fail, get one online.

Re: Gamesharks.
What else can you expect from a PSX
Anyway, they usually don't do stuff like that. With certain versions of them you can play import titles too. And you can do more stuff than cheat... For example in Wind Waker you can make link huge or small and go to these wierd test rooms and stuff, and make link extremely fast. And jump acroos oceans too... They're great |

Re: Gamesharks.
The older gamesharks used to screw up the entire game, but it seems like they have fixed that by now.
I never used one, and I never will. I actually got the Mew on the pokemon game from a kid in Jamaica..... it's a jamaican Mew! Well, I don't play iot anymore, but that kid was using a gameshark to get the pokemon... his entire game was screwed around with and stuff...

Re: Gamesharks.
Gamesharks are bad, m'kay?
I used to use on for my GBASP... it didn't break it, persay, but I used it so much on Pokemon Sapphire that I lost track of where to go, and basically 'beat' the game without finishing it. It was pretty crummy. No matter how much it my be tempting: DON'T get a Gameshark. It will ruin the game for you. You'll get everything, beat everything,a nd win everything within hours, and it's not nearly as rewarding as taking the real time to beat a game.

Re: Gamesharks.
i have a gameshark for the original playstation and for the GBC. the gameboy one messes up the games sometimes (darn cartridge games!) and...... i guess the playstation one kind of messes them up too! it was a lot of help on most of the games only i couldnt really figure out how to add games. they cose a decently good sum of money so if you want one start saving, i think it is worth it.
