Re: Resident Evil

Yay! After the span of 1 week, and with the help of Gamespot and certain friends, i have every Resident evil for every system. I know that means 3 different Resident Evil 4, but i dun care.

Ive also got a new Vader-white PSP! thats good for me!

And i know the movie is non-canon.
i was trying to say that.

Re: Resident Evil

Just got Outbreak 1 & 2. I beat the first one today using various people and my aim is to unlock all of the movies. All I need to do is beat all scenarios with all characters. Phew, that's going to take a while, and File 2 has way more movies that require more complex stuff to unlock. Ugh, there's no way I'll finish this before school.

4 might take awhile, cuz im gonna do it on all three systems...

Ugh... my hands hurt....

Yeah I saw that, it looked creepy but that was too diferent, there was also a planned storyline that ihad to do with Leon getting infected with the progenitor virus.

I dont know if it was just speculation, but according to Game Informer they said there would be flashbacks that explain what Chris has been up to.

Re: Resident Evil

So far, I just own Resident Evil 4, The Umbrella Chronicles and the original Resident Evil. I've played 2, though.

But anyway, without a doubt, RE4 is superior to all its predecessors. I loved the Gamecube version, but when I bought the Wii version, the aiming had improved way more and what-not. One thing, though, the Red9 can only be upgraded to 5.0 firepower, while it can actually be upgraded to 6.7 firepower in the Wii version and PC version.

Seems too... Silent Hill-ish for me.

I've only played RE4 so far, I'm not that good with horror games. I'd like to try REmake, but the controls and angles...blegh, I wouldn't be able to stand them. I don't like having no control over the angles in a game like that.

I prefer the PS2 version of RE4, honestly. The Gamecube version gives you too much ammo, and I never knew what to do with it because I mostly just shot the Ganados with whatever and knifed them. PS2 version wasn't so extravagant with the ammo, so it felt harder.

As for the survival horror aspect, I agree that RE4 was not really that scary at all. Sure, it had its creepy moments and scenery (Island Laboratory, anyone? Perhaps an Oven Man?) but I've seen video walkthroughs of REmake and felt it'd be scarier, if only for the fact that you couldn't control the damn angles, and the ****ing dogs, and the hunters, etc.

Re: Resident Evil

I'm really not a fan of these games. The idea of a zombie virus is so overused in media that its just old. There really is no complex story here.

I'm more of a silent hill fan, just because those games breathe atmosphere.

Actually the overarching story of the series is quite huge and very detailed. The story is, in my opinion, better and more developed than Silent Hill's. Silent Hill however is definitely better in the horror aspect though. It is far scarier, which makes up for the lacking story.

I love both series. I own every Resident Evil game that matters (all except for Survivor 2, which is a dream, and Gaiden, which is not canon.)
Silent Hill, I own Origins and borrowed 1, 2, 3, and 4 from my brother.

eh. The series pretty much got ruined for me because I used to have this friend that was totally obsessed with the series, and eventually he became rather violent. Like, he bite me on the face in the middle of school, violent. And hes 1 and a half foot shorter than me. it was halloween, and he was dressed up as a zombie, and he couldn't fathom why I would be pissed over a silly thing like that. After that he thought that it was fun to push my buttons and see how far it would go. eventually, I raped him with words and made him get so butthurt that he actually challenged me to a fight, then never showed up. I blame violent media for his psychosis, god like "i can do whatever i want attitude because i am stronger and more violent" then everyone else attitude.

Needless to say, none of my friends see that kid much anymore.

But, yea, RE is okay, 4 is the only one that i own, and I have beaten the REmake.

That's pretty messed up. I guess he could have done worse things than pretend to be a zombie and bite you. I wouldn't blame the series though. Your ex-friend probably had problems of his own that would make him do something like that and then not think it was serious.

I just beat 4 for the Wii as well. I bought it for Separate Ways. Now I've beaten the entire series.

I wouldn't call them too easy. Outbreak and 3 can be quite difficult on the higher levels. (especially 3 if you don't exploit the ammo making)

I have played the Wii port, and I didn't really feel any different, except my arm hurt when I was fighting the two El Gigantes.

Then again I guess I could just use the button when knifing. n_n

Re: Resident Evil

You guys should really look into the RE novels by S.D. Perry, they are good reads. There are seven in all. Five are based on the games and two are original stories. I hope one day she'll write one for RE4, but it don't look like it.
