Even I, largely a Nintendo fan, recognize and know full well that the PS2 is great system with a giant, fun, and successful library. Come on, I understand having different tastes, but... You can't get more diverse than the PS2 library.

EDIT: Actually, I think about the only thing to hate about PS2 is its sucky hardware. That thing's about as sturdy as a PB&J sandwich.

When I'm saying "hating on Sony", I don't mean that they're actually accusing the PS2 of being a bad console. It's just that people did hate Sony when the PS3 came along. So there were (and probably still are, I dunno) reasons to hate Sony. The PS2 just ain't one of them.

And one thing I never see considered in Nintendo-fanboys-versus-Nintendo-haters flame wars is price. Even with price and quality cuts, the 360 and PS3 are so very expensive. And new game for the HD consoles cost 20% more than your new Wii game. This may not matter in a discussion of pure quality, but it certainly matters in the real world. I mean, you may think your PS3 is twice as good as your Wii, and that would actually be fitting, figuring it cost twice as much.

In all seriousness, like I said, I'm picky as all hell, I like trolling people, and my tastes are ludicrously perfectionistic and not particularly reflective of those of the average gamer, who in all probability will be able to enjoy many of the games listed. But I stand by every single thing I said about the ****ty PS2 games that are hailed as "great," especially the RPGs; I want games that make me think as much as literary classics if they purport to have a plot. I'm well aware that that's asking entirely too much, but I'll keep doing that until someone besides Hideo and two or three others actually makes a habit of creating those kinds of games, since that's the only way the mainstream will come to understand the artistic potential that lies in a game system.

Blaming Reggie for the ****ty e3 showing is silly O_o. Nintendo of America/Europe have no say in anything really, it's all Iwata and Miyamoto.

Question guise, where do you think the Wii? I mean, what will first party support be like? Will third parties ever jump on board ? Will it carry on steamrolling the ps3 and 360 even if it has no software? etc

Yes, it's true that the console is cheaper than the rest. However (and I can't believe I'm arguing against the Wii of all things), with all of the accessories you're forced to buy most of the time(Extra Wii-mote/Nunchuk, that new MotionPlus, WiiSpeak, plus games), the Wii isn't exactly cheap cheap, either. It's still cheaper than the rest, though, given that its games are $10 less usually. I'm still thankful for that.

For about $30 more than the Wii, you can get a 360 arcade version with 5 Xbox Live Arcade games for free, and HD. And access to a great game library. That price feels really good when compared to the Wii.

But it evens out in price because the Wii has a lot of accessories to be bought, and the controllers are $10 more expensive than the 360 and PS3 controllers.

First party support will remain like it is for a while. Unless Wii "Insert catchy words here" stops being at the top of the charts there is no reason for Nintendo to quit. They'll release one or two more hardcore directed games to not let the outcry get too much out of control but as long as the money flows so does Wii Fit 2.

Now third parties will want to copy that success. And what will they do? Exactly copy Nintendo, so you'll see more Wii Fitness and Wii Athletics coming from third parties. Hardcore directed games will be small and consist of largely bad ports.

The PS3 will overtake the 360, because of it's growing importance as a Blu-Ray player. But I don't think there is going to be a big difference, especially not if MS caves in and makes a Blu-Ray 360. Now if MS keeps on trying to steal the casual gamer from Nintendo (And fail because the 360 looks too scary, really ask around.). It will likely fall in third place and a lot of people are going to end up with a Wii-PS3 combination.

Now the Wii has and will have software. It will just loose its appeal to us faster and faster, the soccer mums will get bored at one point too. The question is if this will happen before the 'next-generation' starts. Which will bring a whole new question, "Will Nintendo release a kind of Virtual Boy 2?" Or just an upgraded Wii 2, which regarding to gameplay won't change a whole lot.

So that's my future prediction.
