As for your Twin Snakes mention, yeah that's real great... excpet for the fact that it was a remake ( a ****ty one at that). And the PS2 got original MGS games: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (probably the best MGS game ever), Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.

The Gamecube sure as hell had more than 2 good games. The GC had two of the best games ever: Resident Evil 4 and Metroid Prime. Thats good enough for me.

I'm still incredibly disappointed by their piss-poor conference, and even more that their 08 lineup is lacking, but at least we know that they're still coming out with a new Zelda, Mario and Pikmin for the hardcore fans. This is them messing up their timing, not necessarily their development.

Also SPM really isn't that good, the biggest flaw in the game, however, is the primitive level system. it takes out the exploration and cripples the games side quests, something which the previous games didn't have a problem with.

Funny considering that there's still more side-content and exploration in the game the the previous two even with the stage formula.

No I'd put Metroid Prime as hardcore. But I wouldn't say Zelda is more on the casual side. I just think that about Twilight Princess. The others are defiantly hardcore.

I'm more of a GBA Fire Emblem person myself, I wasn't too fond of Path of Radiance, and Radiant Dawn was more like PoR.

Which definition of 'hardcore' is this thread using? The one I used in my post, or the definition of the word resembling "mature?"

Anyway, reading the thread, when I saw that statement, I was about to make a comment about "Metroid Prime being far more hardcore than GoW and the other mentioned games", but, since you at least classified MP as a hardcore game, it's sort of pointless now.

And that's pretty much it. Fact is that those systems were made what they were by third-party support. It's worrisome that Nintendo doesn't realize that that is the chief reason they were beaten; up until this point they've pretty much had the market cornered for name-recognition games. The one-two combination of lack of third-party titles and them completely ****ing failing to capitalize on their heavy hitters so far is the textbook definition of a bad omen.

They are refering to my definition of Hardcore. And that is games made for the more serious gamer. Being that the people who have only ever played games like WiiSports would not enjoy it in the slightest.

I'd like to think that everyone is using "hardcore" to define games that have a good amount of depth and challenge to them, and those who don't usually play games will not be interested in them. If anyone uses the "mature = hardcore" definition, I've more than lost faith in the gaming community.

Nastasha still had an accent; Naomi and Mei Ling were US citizens and had been for years. I already said this.

You'd have to search out a Heart Pillar before every level, and one of the major components of the gameplay was exploration. You'd always have to search through every nook and cranny of the levels to complete them. Multiple, accessible paths helped this often.
