People have been rumour-mongering this game for years, thank god Blizzard is finally giving in.
Diablo II was pretty damn fun, and although it wasn't the best game in the world, it was definitely worth playing. III can only improve upon the formula. I'm just hoping that my beloved Druid isn't as crappy in this game as he was in the last.
To be honest, I had almost lost hope. When Hellgate was initialy announced, everyone kept saying it was the closest we'd get to a D3, but now I'm happy. D2 was quite repetitive, but that what I liked about it, it was a great way to relax and just pound the **** out of seemingly endless hordes of cows. There was also the fun of collecting items, trying to get a whole set. It was one of the first series in which I greatly prefered the second game over the first (although Diablo was still also amazing). No doubt I'm reserving a copy. I am quite interested to see how the story will play out seeing as the soul stones were destroyed.
Judging from what they've shown us thus far, D3 looks especially worth the wait. They've kept the core mechanics, jumbled things about a bit, then stuck the lot in a blender with concentrated win and set it to purée. I'm going to have especially a lot of fun with the fully-destructable enviroments.
Anyway, the graphics look fresh at atmospheric (as they should be for a Diablo game), and the storyline premise has me more than just glued to the screen; it has me mortified. Things are looking up! This has been a great decade indeed for gaming.
Also, in relation to the "evil penguin" gag in the teaser pages, I've changed my sig as a sort of in-joke. Personally, I hope it catches on.
Embarrassed to say I've never played Diablo before. However after seeing that I think I've found myself a new favorite game, I mean wow. That was just incredible looks awesome, cannot wait for it to come out, sadly they haven't even ball parked the release day yet....
1. a state of utter confusion or disorder; a total lack of organization or order.
Wow... at least they have an official website before the game is released. Unlike Nintedo, they don't even make an official website for TP before it's release... instead they make it like 5 months after TP releases... um what?
