Looking fantastic. We can definitely say that the art is a mix of gothic and anime, especially when you look at that Dracula pic.

The gameplay seems to have a lot of dynamic environments, something we really haven't seen too much since the first few games. I hope this leads to a lot more platforming, and environmental puzzles with the Glyphs as Iga talked about.

Some information! Apparently there will be little/no touchscreen or microphone use:

Igarashi: I know fans loved those applications and so I apologize in advance, but for this game we will not be using the touch-screen or microphone very much. I feel the touch-screen gets in the way of the actual gameplay. It's not an action game if you have to use the touch-screen too much. As for the mic -- I don't think our development team even considers the mic. They're more focused in finding a new attack system. And one more thing, and this is probably more of a Japan thing, but if you've seen someone using the mic on the train -- it's kind of embarrassing. And if you do it at home in front of your family, they'll think you're crazy. [laughs]

He also hints to a Wii Castlevania (*fingers crossed*)

Crispy Gamer: Actually, that brings me to my next question. There's a rumor going around that you don't just have one Castlevania title in development, but that there's a second one for the Wii...

Igarashi: That's top secret!

Crispy Gamer: That's top secret. That's still a very good answer. [smiles]

Igarashi: In regards to that, today we announced the DS version, but there's something else that we definitely want to announce in the near future. Until then, be excited about the DS!

It's all but inevitable that we get some kind of Castlevania iteration on Wii, whether as a Wiiware title or a full-out game. There's so many hints it's not even funny.

its bound to happen, they should do it as an actual Wii game it would suit them more

^ If they would, it'd be 2D. Iga is absolutely adamant on keeping a 3D Castlevania away from the remote.

I have not played a Castlevania since the old days on the SNES, but this looks so good it may to pull me back in.

I too, want to see Simon Belmont back in Castlevania. I may have not played the recent Castlevania titles, but this title looks pretty damn awesome, though the chick shouting the spells is pretty annoying.

As long as it's 2-d, then praise Igarashi!
It'd be interesting to see if they implement motion controls in it, seeing as how he doesn't like the touch screen much...
