Grand Theft Auto IV - not top anymore?

I'd like to discuss GTA IV's placement on gamerankings.com

It appears that it is no longer on the top of the list. In fact... the X360 version is equal with OoT and the PS3 version is now below OoT!

I find this quite pleasing. Especially when I certainly remember a lot of ignorant individuals posting comments a few weeks ago in the GTA IV thread saying things like, "OoT has finally gone down" and "OoT was bound to go down sooner or later" and other ignorant comments like that. This really angered me and made me want to kill those people and I was frustrated at how short-sighted some people can be.

I suppose GTA IV is only going to go down further (but only slightly) and OoT will reign supreme again.
Just a natural fact... OoT was born to be the best... and unless Nintendo don't do something awesome and unique with the series... it won't get beaten ever again.

It never really mattered to me. Quite frankly, no matter if OoT was below some other game it would still have the same feeling of greatness to me. Although, I have heard GTA IV is quite good.

However, it's not THAT good.

I think it's about time something beat OOT. OOT is outdated and doesn't deserve the title of "Best Gaem Ev0r lol" anymore.

I would say that I don't care, but I find myself genuinely disturbed that Gameranking's flawed ranking system would spurn such asylum-worthy comments. Such blind fanatacism; it pains my soul to see that this is what Nintendo has turned our generation into.

So, people are ignorant for not worshipping OoT as the best game of all time and thinking that there are games more deserving of the top spot than OoT? This fanboyism is disgusting... here's something worth talking about, though. Let's look at the Gamerankings information.

Grand Theft Auto 360- 65 reviews- 2 80%s- 28 90%s- 35 100%s, making up 55.22% of the reviews.

Ocarina of Time- 31 reviews- 14 90%s- 17 100%s, making up 54.84% of the reviews.

Does it matter if Ocarina of Time has a higher/equal score to Grand Theft Auto when looking in to the information at Gamerankings? Since Grand Theft Auto was reviewed by twice as many reviews as Ocarina of Time, does that give Grand Theft Auto a much more accurate look at the general opinion of the critics than Ocarina of Time? And, does Grand Theft Auto win because of the greater percentage of 100%s than Ocarina of Time?

Anyway, damn, I thought extreme Final Fantasy fanboyism was bad... but this proves that there are much more militant and fanatical fanbases out there, such as the Zelda fanbase.

The hypocrisy kills me. "Short sightedness" in the fact that you done nothing in the Official Grand Theft Auto IV thread but confess you don't even play GTA, you even complained about how people can find the GTA series entertaining.

Not only was it distracting from the discussion at hand, it was completely pointless.

gamerankings.com isn't the be all and end all of the best games out there.

How much of it have you played? I thought the single player was outstanding, and definitely deserves all of those 10s. I'd put it right up there with RE4 as my personal favorite game.

Woah, I wouldn't care about this, but is there really such need to have so much fanboyism? Really, just because they like GTA more than OoT makes them, short-shighted and ignorant?

Have you beaten GTA IV? The storyline is really amazing, and I really cared about the cast of characters.

Maybe not number 1 (Because its not as revolutionary as say... OoT) but it should be right up there.

Yo I love RE4 too man...iam into the game that I unlock all the cap bottles...and right now iam tryna unlock a movie scene in chapter 3...

I find that extremely disturbing. Yes, Ocarina of Time was a great game, maybe even the best ever depending on ones opinion. How would another gaming beating it on a rankings website change how you feel about the game though, and why would you care enough to get the urge to kill? You either need to do some growing up, or get therapy. Seriously.

I don't think GTA IV was better than OoT, but I most definitely don't care if a website disagrees with me.

Can't say I've beaten it, however I've been able to play enough of the story, free-roaming, side missions and multiplayer to realize that it's not better than every single game ever made.

It really felt like a step back from San Andreas, which is in my personal top ten.
