The Worse Gaming Peripherals Ever!

Do you know of any gaming accessories that were just dam awful or pointless?
Any that could be more worse than this?.........
Introducing the "Konami LaserScope"

Could you really imagine inviting all your friends over for a gaming session whilst you're wearing this hideous contraption?

I never really owned one of these (and thank god!) back in the NES days but I do remember a friend who had one imported from the US when it was first released (for some unknown reason?) I know that this must be a fashion statement back in the days of the NES because everybody wanted one. Nothing could be more exhilarating than owning one of these devices and telling all your friends about it.

"Wow! check out my new cool LaserScope man, it's soooo awesome dude!"

If you have or know of any gaming accessories that are more hideous than this, please share your opinions and get some images up if possible.

Definatly the worst I've encountered. I picked one up at a flea market for $3. It is almost impossible to use and makes driving impossible. Not to mention that due to the was its buttons work you have to unplug it and plug in a reguar controler in order to go through most menues.

Re: The Worse Gaming Peripherals Ever!

The Power Glove demands mention, or course. Also, the GBA's e-Reader is a perfect example of wasted potential.

But my own vote is cast for the Sega Activator. An original idea at the time, but there are way too many contingencies required just to make it work correctly, the thing's damn near impossible to use, and it sadly makes you look like a moron. At least the promo video is good for a laugh with its '90s pseudo-hipster weirdness.

I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet.

The eye-scorching Virtual Boy. Definitely one of the worst.

That's not really a peripheral, though, as it's a stand-alone system (Though I completely agree wiith you on the fact that it sucks).

I intentionally left it out because it's technically a console in its own right and not a peripheral. But from my own personal experiences with it back when it was launched, it mostly deserves its infamy. (The poor library is excusable, the way it hurts your eyes is not.)

I stupidly owned one of these consoles a couple of years ago (pre-owned of course) and took it back to the store for a full refund. I just wanted to know what they were like to own. I couldn't believe how much it screwed up with your eyes and the fact that it also gives you nasty head-aches just after 15 minutes or less for some people. Unfortunately this is a games console and not a peripheral but I just wanted to mention how nasty these things were.
