Unhappy mario kart wii question

hey guys. i got a question about the wi fi on mario kart wii. when you lose a race you lose points. you start at 5000. but when you do well you get more points. what do these do? if you lose all of them do you get kicked out of wi fi? please answer.

I would imagine that if you lose all of your points, you remain at 0 until you start winning again.

The points don't do anything, except indicate how many online races you have done well in. The more points you have, the harder it is to keep getting more. When you get to around the 8000 mark, even coming second place will cause you to lose points.

DK. Is that kinda like the skill ranking across WiFi? I know you start off at a certain score and the better/worse you do alters that. ^_^
