The Nintendo Channel Now Available!

The Nintendo Channel is now available on the Wii Shop Channel! On the new channel, one will notice a bunch of previews for upcoming and already released Nintendo platform games. There is also a nice little demonstration for WiiWare. The DS Demo station doesn't have too much to talk about on it as of yet. There is no DLC for the system yet, but there is Demos of Ninja Gaiden and Rayman: Raving Rabids, among other things.

All in all, as of now, there isn't anything too exciting on the channel. Any possible future of DLC or demos/previews that are actually useful is where the channel's potential is at.

Downloaded it earlier. It certainly has potential and the DS demo thing is pretty awesome but knowing Nintendo we may not see anything too great on it.

It's out already? Interesting. That must be why my Wii is glowing. I just figured that Mario Kart sent me a stupid message or something, congratulating for winning the 50cc Mushroom Cup.

What are the chances of people being able to download demos, trailers, and videos from this year's E3? If that were to happen, I think the Nintendo Channel will be a great success.

Totally agree. While the interface wouldn't be as intuitive, the Wii would then be somewhat competitive to what Microsoft and Sony do.

i hope they get alot more stuff on there soon. and update frequently. im sorry but an animal crossing video? there are so many other games they could have put. newer games. it just seems like an odd choice to me.

on a different note has anybody watched the wiiware video? that voice over guy gives me the creeps.

I would say those chances are pretty good, it would be foolish not to do something like that.

dude, I would scream like a giddy school girl if they put out a demo of Metroid Dread on the channel. I know dread is pretty much a dead project, but who knows we might finally get that Fusion sequel at E3 this year. I am keeping my finger's crossed.

on topic: yeah the nintendo channel is awsome, I checked out that Ninja Gaiden DS on the trial download. but I havent seen any videos realating to M- rated games like RE: Umbrella Chronicles or No more Heroes. None of the M games I play are even on the recomendation list. I wonder if this is nintendos doing. They have previews for Hannah Montana yet no Resident Evil?

^ Yeah, they didn't do a fantastic launch for NA, but it'll all come, just give it time. By now the Japanese Channel is loaded with content, so I imagine that they're simply building it up bit by bit for NA.

I wonder if they could have just integrated this into the Wiishop channel, that way everything is all in one place.

No. That would have been way to intuitive for the Wii OS.

DS games have updated themselves

Notable Removals
-Ninja Gaidan
-Cooking Mama

New Arrivals
-Iron Man
-Apollo Justice Ace Attorney
-Spiderwick Chronicles
-My Word Coach
-Eco Creatures

So we lost Gaiden and we gained Ace Attorney...unless there's a "next page" button that I can not see. Either way, currently downloading Apollo Justice but there seems to be something wrong with my internet.

SIDE NOTE: I just noticed that when viewing videos you can see a faint reflection of whatever your watching under the image box playing the video...nice touch.

Wait, they actually didn't wait a month before updating the DS demos? I... I must check out these new ones! Apollo Justice!

Shame about Ninja Gaiden, though. I wanted to try beating Master Ninja again. :/

you can only recommend first party Ninendo games as far as i can tell. i can only recommend virtual console games, zelda, metroid, brawl, Galaxy, and kart.
