Well, 3 has better graphics, and in my opinion, awesome songs. But the other 2 are awesome, too.

well, guitar hero 1 wasn't too good. For one, the hammer on and pull off system was WAAAAY too dificult and made playing solos on expert next to impossible. However, it did have a good selection of songs, my favorites being "flooding in texas" and "higher ground"

Guitar hero 2 is my favorite, this game is what got me hooked on the series. Lots of songs, lots of characters/guitars, and now the hammer on and pull of system was perfected. It had a million awesome songs, my favorites being "raw dog" "the light that blinds" "thunderhorse" "trogdor" "hanger 18" and the infamous "jordan". GH2 was also alot harder and gave hardcore fans (such as myself) a challenge.

Guitar hero 3 was great too. It had new boss battles, an interesting new battle mode, and had even more characters, guitars, and outfits. It had a slew of great songs, including "cliffs of dover" "sunshine of your love" "prayer of the refugee" "my curse" and numerous others. However, this game is best remembered for the insanely crazy ass song "through the fire and flames" which was played by the infamous dragonforce. However, they made the window for hitting the notes larger. What I mean is that now you could hit the notes alot easier and you didn't have to be as exactly on the beat as in previous games. This made the game a little easy, in fact, the only songs in the whole game I found challenging were TTAF and the way it ends on expert.

my favorite was GH2, had the best difficulty level and my favorite songs, great game

Hey what about "Guitar Hero Encore - Rocks the 80's"? I think this and Guitar Hero III are the best two games.

^ GHE was waaaay too easy; it had some awesome songs, but the only song in the game that was actually difficult would be Extreme's "Play With Me". It's the only one I can't pass on expert. The fact that the Dead Kennedys was on GHE gave it about twenty three brownie points. (:

I haven't played GH3 yet, but I have played the other three in the series. I'm sure that the second is my favorite of these. It has the best song choices, difficulty, and it has a perfected hammer-on/pull-off system. There are still a few songs I'm unable to pass on expert, but I like that I still have a challenge in front of me. (I need to really go back and finish it.)

It's the same as GH2 but with a few new songs. It really didn't add any new inovative idea except boss battles (which there are only 3 of anyway). Too easy IMO.

Yes, Knights of Cydonia is a very good song, but since it's near the end of the setlist of all the song, make sure you can actually play Guitar Hero when you get there.

GH2 had the best songlist, and also the best game. GH3 sucks. A lot of the songs are mediocre and it's glaringly obvious that the game was no longer being made by musicians. Rock Band is far and away better than GH3.

A lot of the songs in GH3 sucked monstrously. I liked less than half of them, and the game was much easier than the other two due to the incredible leniency in the hammer-ons. GH2 had the best setlist and gameplay; the only thing GH3 did better was the graphics.

I did play Guitar Hero III a fair bit.. well I watched my cousin (when he came interstate) and my brother play it... while I complained to play other games. I really liked the songs.. but I never really liked playing it... just didn't like it. I have no reason why I didn't like playing it... I don't know... I just didn't for some reason. More of an adventure/action/RPG/stradedgy gamer.

Yeah it was too easy I agree. The quality of the music is awesome because the 80's rock man! Yeah, GH3 is great when you're up against the Devil at the end playing a duet of "The Devil went down to Georgia". Especially insane on Expert!

I prefer the song list over 1 and 2.

The best song ever being Impulse.

They are all fun however.

I vote GH2 as the best, but I've had the most multiplayer fun with Three. Its just ended up more fun than two, regardless of how two is probably the better game overall.
