My friend has it. I go over to his house to play it quite a bit with my other buddies. It's actually really fun to play the drums.

The guitar, is quite a disappointment switching from Guitar Hero to Rock Band because the difficulty has been nerfed quite a bit. I must say though, I do love using the solo buttons at the base of the neck. It's really fun to rock out with those.

Rock band is definitely a good choice to get, plus, it's great for parties. Another thing great for parties....

I used to be beast at DDR. I could get an A on afronova on challenge! I was crazy.


but this is about rock band isn't it? I really like rock band. but with all the good it has, there's lots of crap. The game doesn't, respond well. Like play run to the hills on expert and you will know what I mean. I'm definately strumming it right, but the game doesn't register every time and I lose my combos every five seconds, which of course is frustrating. Also, I HATE playing this at a party, becuase NO ONE will sing! Everyone's either too shy or they claim "I don't know how the song goes!" well, it gives you the lyrics and a line moves up and down to help you get your bearings straight, so it's not that hard on first timers. But I'm ALWAYS stuck singing cuz everyones too afraid. And then everyone acts like a hot shot and plays on expert, and then they fail and I have to save them. then they fail out again, and again, and ruin it for everyone. It stinks. The game itself is okay though. If you're playing with just 3 other people that actually know what they're doing!!!! DDR and Guitar hero are much better party games IMO.

Too be fair, zeldask8r, there are some songs that are REALLY hard to read the lyrics as they go, and it's almost imperative you know the lyrics and the song's tune if you're going to sing on anything above easy.

That said, Rock Band annihilates Guitar Hero, buries it, and drops a deuce on its grave. With the recent addition of the Boston pack, this is even more true. More Than a Feeling ftw.

Not true, you can make up words as long as its the right pitch, it will count it as correct. No actual lyrics are needed.

I have rockband. It's pretty fun. Drums are the most fun for me.

No, you can play through by yourself on any instrument. Or if you have friends they can choose which one they want to play, you don't need all four.

I LOVE Rock Band. Guitar was a bit of a letdown, as the songs were overall pretty easy (especially for someone who can five-star One with his hands tied behind his back) and the machines themselves broke pretty easily. The drums, on the other hand, are fantastic. They work well and they're really fun to play. Good song list and DLC.

you play bass? me too. I hate how they are under appreciated and under rated. seriously, without bass, music in general would suck alot more, as bass is in almost EVERY style of music. In fact, alot of songs in GH and rock band have better bass lines than guitar hero. The bass part in YYZ is more fun to play and is harder than the guitar part. In fact, I think they should make a bass controller, with larger frets and a longer neck so bassists can feel right at home.

Exactly right. Without bass, there would be no:
Classical music
Jazz
Blues
Rock/Metal could exist, but it would feel empty. YYZ, and indeed Rush, would be nothing without awesome bass (okay, Rush is three amazing musicians, but that's beside the point). And I can indeed attest to how much harder the bassline is for that song than the guitarline. I can play it halfway decently on guitar, but bass...sometimes, Geddy Lee makes me want to curl up in a corner and never play bass again. I'm pretty good, but next to him, I'm nothing.

The Guitar is just like it was in GH3. Bass is essetilly aneasyer version of guitar. The drums are probably the most fun since they are hardest to master. Also, according to a friend of mine (who has been playing drums since 4th grade), the playing drums on expert are esentially the same asa playing in real life. The singing I'm very dissapointed with. First off, even if you get it 100%, (unless your a very good singer) it doesn't sound anywhere as good as the real thing. Also, the microphone is a complete peice of crap and poor reception cuases bad scores. I did a song with the included mike and got a 78%. I did the same song on the same difficulty with a mike I got at Staples and got a 91%!

like, on GH3, the green button often stops working mid song

When we're playing a full 4 piece band, I turn the bass knob on my tuner all the way up so the dude playing bass can actually hear himself. Some songs make my room shake. It's pretty lulzy.

Well...
The guitars break quite easily. My guitar has a tendency to make the downstroke stop working, and eventually it will just stop working altogether. And the best part is, it came like that. :glare Fortunately, the drums are quite stable and I haven't had any problems with them.

Three of my friends have it.
I love to play it!!!
And I have no clue about the release date.
