Sonic Unleashed (rumour?)

Sonic Unleashed is the rumoured new 3d sonic game and it looks insanely awesome.

Looks like a return to the series roots after the last few awful games.

Have a trailer and some screens.

Still just a rumour, but if this is real..

Looks good so far, but I won't get my hopes up too much. After all, back when they first showed 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2006' I really thought the series would go back to it's prime days and be really awesome again. Well, it.. didn't.

But hey, as long as they stick with just Sonic and maybe add Tails and Knuckles and by god LEAVE IT at that, I'm fine with it.

Considering the quality of Sonic's last game, I can see why he's in such distress.

1. Sonic has been great in his 3D games (especially Sonic Heroes). I don't care what you say. Bunch of whiners.
2. This game does, in fact, look really cool.

Sorry Blizz, I've got to disagree with you. All of the 3D Sonic titles so far have been hugely disappointing for me, except perhaps Secret Rings, but I'd have to play that more before making a full decision. Games like Sonic Heroes are reasonably playable, but lack that Sonic magic. First impressions of this new video is that the magic may be back.

Can it be? A Sonic game about speed again? If so yes because the only Sonic games that have been good so far have sonic and the secret rings and sonic on DS, oh and please no more unnecessary characters.

FINALLY, someone who doesn't poo-poo every Sonic game that isn't retro.

And I agree. Sonic Heroes was brilliant. And guess what nay-sayers? I think Shadow the Hedgehog was great, too. Call me crazy if you like. I don't care.

Actually, I'm not too fond of Secret Rings. I might not even bother finishing it, to be honest.

^Bah, the Shadow game was ok... It was kinda short. I beat it in a day.

This game looks awesome. I hope it's better than the last hundred crappy games. It's a shame the franchise went to the dogs like it did. It's really cool.

The city reminds me of Assassin's Creed, which was better than Sonic Heroes. I'm wondering why I typed this, too.

No, but seriously, ask anybody who kows me - I'm more a Sonic fan than a Zelda fan. Yeah, people explode in my face when I tell 'em that most of the time. But Sonic... this video gave me a fanboygasm.

Also, I will beat you all with Sonic in Brawl! I finally got him.

I agree with you entirely. Even though I'm a Sonic fan, most of the newer games were really disappointing.

SONIC games are fun but they are kinda dumb

Looks a lot like Sonic Rush (and the sequel) for the DS. Those games were... mediocre, really. The games really consisted of holding the forward button.

Too few enemies, too little true platforming. Too many boosters and moments of "oh wow, he's fast!"

I'd like to see a game similar to Secret Rings. As mentioned, that game was pretty good... even though the controls could've used quite some tweaking, but it's deffinately a step in the right direction.

PS3/360? Makes no sense... I think Secret Rings sold pretty well, and with the success of Olympic Games (it's selling) and Sonic in Brawl... why wouldn't they stay with Nintendo? Stupid, that's what I call it. But then again, Sega seems to have a habit of ruining it for Sonic.

All shoot-em-ups, unless I'm very much mistaken, which I'm not into. And I don't even know what Orange Box is.
