Re: Nintendo Announcing "Huge" Holiday Games at E3 in July!! (Hint: No Real News)

If they were going to make a new Starfox game they should just let Factor 5 develop it.

Consider it's Nintendo they're probably just hyping up nothing : \.

Ugh, I'm hoping for a new IP, but I doubt it highly. Then again, anything is possible.

It would be disturbing if this were another casual gamer feed-off.

Well, factor 5 has been developing some kick-awesome engine for something. It may be that game, star fox or not.

New Golden Sun would be...well, you wouldn't me on the forum the day it came out, I know that.

It may be the new Kirby game for the Wii.

A new Kirby would be nice.
I bet some of the trophies in Brawl will hint at new games. Some of Melee's trophies did that...

I would love for it to be Golden Sun III, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

All I really care about is that Wii Music Orchestra is actually coming out and that it still allows us to use orchestras! (which this article confirmed both, so yay!)

Anyway, having been calmed down from my Star Fox Wii rage, it's probably another Wii <insert random obscenity towards the gaming masses here>. I'd really, really like Star Fox Wii, though. Come on, Nintendo, how hard is it to go back to the good old Star Fox 64 times? We had some good times back then, didn't we? I mean, you're doing good with Command but I really just want the series going back on the console.

That, or Kirby Wii.. I mean, it was in production for the Gamecube right? So where is it? Oh well, I guess there's always a new Metroid game. :D If it's 2D sprite based (yeah, right) sign me up. If it's 3D... I'll pass.

That's the coolest idea since sliced bread! And you've got to admit, sliced bread is really cool!

Yeah, Factor 5 working on a Star Fox game would be...phenomenal.

Re: Nintendo Announcing "Huge" Holiday Games at E3 in July!! (Hint: No Real News)

Well, Factor 5 is working on somthing; my predictions for that would be either Star Fox Wii, F-Zero Wii, or a Kid Icurus sequal. But remember, wern't these they guys who brought the god-awful lair to the PS3? Yes, they did Star Wars: RS aswell, but... I'm a little nervous about this one, to be honest.

Whoever said that Rare should come back to Nintendo, try to remember that most of the former employers of Rare have left to make... Free Radical Studios I THINK (you may want to check up on that one). The point is that it is the staff that make good games, and the staff of the current Rare arn't all that great- you only have to look at their recent titles to see that. Nintendo has moved on from Rare. Retro is the new Rare, in my opinion.

As for predictions for other games that will be announced:

Metroid Dread (unlikey, but I would like it anyway)
Zelda Wii (just a word and a screenshot or two to show that it exists)
DK Wii
F-Zero Wii
Kid Icarus
Star Fox Wii

That would be enough to keep Nintendo popular for a few more years.

I find that suprising.
Most people seem to think the 3D games only improved the series.
And, I'd have to say...compared to the 2D games, they are better.

It's different for everybody, but I don't like the 3D Metroid games. Sure, they're great games. They certainly belong at the top of the GCN/Wii line-up, but I prefer the 2D games myself.

Comparing Super Metroid to Metroid Prime (the best 2D Metroid and the best 3D Metroid, respectively), and they are, gameplay wise, very different games. And I'd pick Super Metroid over Prime any day.

Re: Nintendo Announcing "Huge" Holiday Games at E3 in July!! (Hint: No Real News)

Anyways, I do think Metroid Dread is a reality. Nintendo said a while back they were not making any 2D Metroid games(when asked about Metroid Dread). That doesnt rule out 3D games.

Retro has already said that they are going to let Metroid simmer for awhile. I doubt that Nintendo would make a 3D game without Retro. Also, I don't want another 3D game! 2D Dread, if you don't mind!!!

Of course, if we really want to nitpick, I suppose they said that they wern't making it then, which could mean that it was still in the planning stages and it is being made now.

I haven't played Super Metroid (and the demo in Brawl doesn't count).
I have, however, played the original, Fusion, Zero Mission, and Primes 1 and 3 (2 is somewhere collecting dust). While I do think the 3-d games are good, I'd definately say that from my experience, the 2-d ones are better. My favorite Metroid game that I've played to date is Fusion. Man, I loved that game.
Either way, I'd think a 2-d/handheld Dread (or other) is the only possibility for another Metroid game right now. I doubt they'd make another console one so soon. I'm personally pulling for the GC Kirby resurrection or Animal Crossing Wii, myself.
