Zelda Ocarina Of Time is still number 1 ranked game

On the poll in ZU it says Mario galaxy has taken oot place as number 1 game but it hasnt. On Game ranking they get every reviews from every site and work out a average for the games and the best ever ranked game is still ocarina of time. I never could see how SMG could replace it so fast anyway. I mean it takes a while for that many people to decide its a better game. OoT still #1 IMO

good. It's an amazing game, I'm suprised when I hear my friends say LOZ is boring...

I have just finished SMG and.... it sucks. Granted, the whole gravity thing makes it interesting until the end. But replace OOT?

just a question... Where is Grand theft auto san andreas? I'm not the hugest GTA fan but I do know its probably one of the best games ever.

I dont have to have played SMG to know that OoT kicks it's ass.

I think that the poll was made of an article/review or whatever that stated OOT is no longer the no.1 ranked game.
Well i think that whoever came up with that was just basing it on their opinion.. and they should keep it to themselves. just because they think so doesn't mean that its now a fact and that everyone agrees.(which im sure everyone doesn't)
So its best just to ignore that ridicuous comment.
By the way i think Mario galaxy is great but it just doesn't compare to OOT.

SMG is a awesome game, the whole concept is spiffy. But when thrown in comparison to OOT... Meh.

That's awesome to see it up there. It's also just as awesome to see so many Nintendo games up there! Nintendo owns the top 3 too.

oot is one of the best games ever in my opinion thats all i have to say

SMG was great ya, almost perfect, but Oot deserves that spot. I seriously would rather own Oot than SMG.

And Oot is OLD.

I have more fun playing Mario Galaxy than Ocarina of Time.

We'll never know until Brawl is released... I wonder...

Games that are great in all ways and lasts long enough for us to play will be ranked "1".

OoT got boring after a while I'll tell ya, but it still is great.

Galaxy deserved 2nd place, since outer space seemed to get boring after a while...

Brawl will certainly rise, or not, since it features online support. (Though it will head down because you guys won't stop whining about R.O.B. being a playable character, and why one of your favorite characters got left out in the game)


But speculating, Star Fox Wii/whatever MUST take over. I REALLY hope it will shine just as Starfox 64 did.

I don't really care if someone out there says that Ocarina is the number one ranked game or not. All that matters to me is that I still enjoy playing Ocarina of Time.

Though even I'm having a hard time fathoming how Super Mario Galaxy could out-do Ocarina of Time... unless it's based solely on controls. Even then, though Super Mario Galaxy was fun to play at Wal-mart (yet, plus I can't afford it & it's perpetually out of stock) I'd say Ocarina of Time was far more enjoyable to play.

I am curious as to how Starfox Wii will turn out. I was mildly disappointed for the Starfox GCN game. I had too much expectations I guess.

I am amused about ROB being a playable combatant. Though I miss Roy already, and he's not even my favorite.

*Moved to general gaming*...since it's not just about Zelda, but the competition Ocarina of time has in the top list.

Anyway, Ocarina of Time may be #1 right now but there are a lot of factors that come into play.

First, OOT was released in a time when it was easier to get a high rating from a review site. As time passed, sites that gave high reviews weren't taken to be as credible as sites who reviewed game realistically. Mario Galaxy had to do some impressive stuff to get itself that high in the rankings.

Secondly, Ocarina of Time is basing the score it got from 31 reviews while Galaxy is going off of 65. If Ocarina of Time got a 9.0 on one site, Mario Galaxy would need to get that same score on at least two sites for it to have the same effect on the rankings.

Finally, Ocarina of Time came out when 3D and all that kind of stuff was new, a big reason why it sticks out to people so much is because it was their first time experiencing something like it. Now, it's really hard to get the same effect, Nintendo had to think pretty hard to make the whole thing fresh again and as you can see all the effort really paid off.

While it may not be higher than Ocarina of Time in the rankings, Galaxy (and almost every game on that top 10 list) had to go through enough to get up there and any one of them wouldn't be in a wrong place if they were listed above Ocarina of Time.
