Metroid Prime Problem
I have a problem with Metroid Prime (1).
I'm in Chozo Ruins, early in the game, and I'm trying to get to the Furnace. But, when I get to the West Furnace Access, not even halfway through the hall, the game freezes in the exact same spot every time. Can anyone tell me how to fix/ prevent this? Oh, I already tried resetting the game, and that didn't work.

Re: Metroid Prime Problem
It's not my game either, I just had my brother try it, and it didn't freeze his game.

Re: Metroid Prime Problem
Wow, what a coincidence. I just picked up my old Metroid Prime game due to a recent craving, and had the same issue in the same exact spot. I simply cleaned the disc and CAREFULLY brushed off the lense with my shirt.
A side note: Another issue I have with my game is that in certain areas the gamecube itself seems to skip, if this happens stop moving and let the system load more. I hope this helps!

Re: Metroid Prime Problem
A classic problem. Tunnels in the game were made to be loading areas for the next room. Sometimes, though, the game will not be able to load fast enough and freeze up. It's a programing error in every copy, though I must admit it's odd to have that problem every time in the same place.
All you can really do is go slowly when you reach the spot.

Oh, it also stopped doing that on my game. I just kept resetting the GC and it finally worked.

Re: Metroid Prime Problem
metroid2002.com: metroid prime: other: chozo ruins elevator crash
Same thing happens when you enter the Furnace: metroid2002.com: metroid prime: other: furnace crash This only happens in the 00 version of the game (the version which isn't Player's Choice), and it only happens when you're playing the game on a Gamecube. The glitch does not occur when playing the game on a Wii. Nothing like this happens in Prime 2: Echoes, although that game is so bad that if it did have crashes it wouldn't be worth playing in the first place. Seriously though, play Prime 2, if only for the face that Prime 3 exists.
