Re: whos up for No More Heroes?

Look at my CR, I want this game to do well more than anything.

I'm a little tight on money, so I'm planning to trade in a bunch of games next week and use that credit to buy it. With Smash being delayed I'm gonna need something to go along with Galaxy for the next month or so. The game looks really cool, I just hope it turns out that way. More importantly I hope it sells well, because Japan totally screwed it over as they have with pretty much all console games that aren't RPGs or minigame compilations.

it's hard to explain, you have to see it for yourself, I included a link to a preview in the first post

Re: whos up for No More Heroes?

I personally found Killer7 to be one of the most dull shooters I've ever played. Hopefully this will be an improvement.

well this is not a shooter, nor does have anything to do with Killer7 save for having the same creator and artisic feeling with the cel graphics.

Re: whos up for No More Heroes?

The game looks awesome. But I have no idea whether to buy it or to rent it... I have money for 3 games, I think. I've already reserved Brawl, so... And Mario Kart Wii I'm most likely going to get. I'm also squeezing in Endless Ocean somewhere. But I've had a hard time deciding between Mario Strikers or this game. If I buy No More Heroes, I'm going to rent Charged. If I buy Charged, I'm going to rent No More Heroes.

GAH! I have a hard time deciding. Watch me end up getting a completely different game. No More Heroes does look awesome, though...

I already have Galaxy, Mario Party 8, Mario Party DS, and I'm getting Mario Kart Wii. Maybe I should get Charged when it goes down... HAHA! Yeah right. Like anything with Mario on it is ever going to go down. But yeah, No More Heroes is a completely different genre, that, for some reason, reminds me of Conker. It's like a mixture of Conker and GTA.

Or Dance Dance Revolution.

Exactly why I'm preferring it. It's also why I'm a tad bit skeptical about it, too. Since it's something completely new and original, I want to make sure that I like it first... but it really looks like my kinda game. And I'm also worried if it's short or not. If I can beat it within the time period of a rental, then I'm not fully sure. Same thing I did with Super Paper Mario. Beat that in 2 or 3 days, I believe. Glad I rented it.

...though that WAS an awesome game.

Eh, I'm just a really picky person when it comes to this kinda stuff. Especially if I'm low on cash.

This is a completely irrelevant question, but I figured I might as well say it here since I didn't think it warranted a thread and is probably obvious... Can you get a replacement disc for GH3 if you bought the mono version for when the new one comes out? Or are they going to make it via the Wii Shop Channel for people that bought the mono one?

I'm freakin' huge on the typos today.

So it did tank in Japan? Tough break for Suda. It definitely looks fun, what with the lightsabers, the blood and the attitude.
I am wary of the random acts of manual labor in the game though....

Re: whos up for No More Heroes?

To Meep: I don't think Heroes is the type of game you can beat in 2-3 days, because besides the main quest of the game their are quite a few side missions and stuff to do to kill time, not to mention the world of Heroes is open ended sorta like GTA where you can go any where right off the bat.

sorry but I can't answer your GH3 question.

I was too until I found out that your selection becomes much better after the earlier assassin fights. Eventually there's a ton of a fighting challenges and missions including your speed bike, so you won't always have to do the coconut or lawn-mowing games.

Yeah, Suda seems to have finally realized that style over substance with video games is generally a bad idea.

Yeah. I forget about those things a lot... and not to mention, you can play with your cat!

You know, an online mode in this game would've been awesome and I probably would've bought it on the spot if it had online.

Hrm... I think I just need to see a couple reviews first. Are any out now?

This game will rock for sure, but I think they overdid the blood effects, not cool!:/
The chara designs and artstyle are so awesome!

Re: whos up for No More Heroes?

I'm gonna get it, looks awesome and the gameplay seems interesting. The minigames I've seen, like mowing a lawn, offer some variance as well.

But what about the censoring? The U.S. is going to get the "turn to ashes"-type kills, right? I hope that they change that for Europe. I mean, I have no problem with less gore, but...well, I do. If I cut someones head with a lightsaber, I'll be expecting a little blood to come out.

Re: whos up for No More Heroes?

^ No, North America gets the outrageous amounts of blood, while Japan and Europe gets the ashes thing.
