Official Pokemon Thread V.2

It's been a month since anybody replied to the last Pokemon thread, I thought I'd make a new one as a Christmas present for all of us Pokemon fans here at ZU! ^^

Any talk of the Pokemon games goes in here, from Diamond and Pearl, to Red, Blue, and Yellow and everything inbetween. Ask for help, opinions, etc. All ZU rules apply, so no spam, flaming, etc. It will be dealt with by the mods if done, so heed those rules.

To start off, I'd like opinions about some moves I gave my Pokemon in Pearl. Here are their movesets.

Infernape: Flamethrower, Flamewheel, Mach Punch, Strength
Machoke: Submission, Cross Chop, Rock Smash, Rock Climb
Roserade: Mega Drain, Toxic, Cut, Grass Knot
Luxray: Thunderbolt, Thunder Fang, Crunch, Flash
Staraptor: Fly, Arial Ace, Pluck, Close Combat
Gastrodon: Earthquake, Muddy Water, Surf, Body Slam

Roserade should have learned Giga Drain as a Roselia by now...must have been because I used a Rare Candy to level it up at the time it was going to learn it, I think. Anyway, Flamethrower, Earthquake, Thunderbolt, Submission, and Cross Chop are strong moves, no?

Yup. I'm...working on that, actually. But I can't finish any time soon. I gotta find a way to get internet to my DS again so I can trade for ones I need. Trading with myself is an alternate since I have both Diamond and Pearl and my brother has a DS.

I need to get around to training that shinx of mine...

Shinx? I love Shinx! The moment I first met one in my first round of Diamond it became my favorite Pokemon! That little lion is oh so cute! :3

I demand a Mew glitch in new games!

Red and Blue I had perfect, because it was possible to catch Mew. But now Leafgreen and Firered are incomplete, GRAAHHHHH!

Oh, and I could care less about those beyond 151

I don't think you should keep Flamewheel between Infernape's moveset, he/she already got flamethrower.

I bet your Machoke is just an HM holder. If not, you should give him/her at least one non-fighting attack with 100 accuracy.

Mega drain should be replaced with a non-grass type. Because you have Grass Knot and M D's power is pathetic.

I don't like the fact that Luxray has two electric type attacks. You should decide over one (thunderbolt would be my choice).

Wow! Staraptor has threeeeee aerial attacks, but Fly is a must. Aerial ace is better than Pluck most of the cases. But it will learn Brave Bird.

Why does Gastrodom has Muddy Water? Surf is way better (except for the fact that muddy water may low accuracy 30% of the time). It would be nice to teach it recover or ice beam.

I love Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh Pocket Monsters. Johto the most. Sinnoh second.

I like Hoen the most. Then, a tie betwen Kanto and Sinnho. And last but yet least Johto.

I see. I prefer to have two attacks of one type on each Pokemon because sometimes one of them is not needed or that move doesn't have a lot of PP. And PP ups are expensive, mind you. I would agree that Surf is better than Muddy Water, but but I needed to replace Water Pulse with something. That move is pathetic for Gastrodon's high level. Now that I think of it, I do have the TM for Ice Beam...

...wait, shoot, I forgot I replaced Luxray's Shockwave with Thunder Fang. That's a good move too. *goes to edit* As for Flame Wheel, I was going to replace that with a better fire type move later on. Thanks for the tips.

Sinnoh has the best Pokemon imo. Then Johto.

I personally dislike having the same type of attack on one pokémon. That's just me.

I hate the shinnog pokemon, they should really stop now before they ruining them al, al exept garchomp where bad, and they scruwed magmar and elecatbuzz and more now too
I like jotho and kanto the best, hoenn was meh

I thought Kanto had the worst Pokemon, with a few exceptions. They're just...bad compared to the newer, awesome Pokemon. Hoenn had interesting Pokemon as well as Johto and Sinnoh, though some looked plain ridiculous like Luvdisc. >.<

Pokemon is obviously a serious that can personally get involved with someone, which is why we get all these opinions on which generation is the best and such. For me, Johto is one of the best. It took the first generation and made it better. Then came Hoenn, which I found a load of bull and a few step backwards. It was like a whole different game with the Pokemon name slapped onto it. Then, Sinnoh saved me in my view that Pokemon was going down hill. It took everything Johto had and made that better! ^_^

I'm an ardent Pokemon traditionalist. Well... not really. Kanto was my favourite set of Pokemon, but Johto was my favourite game plot-wise.

I found R/S to be somewhat... unmemorable. I thought the game cut out too many of the better features of the G/S games (night/day, fairly big plot with some subplots, two different countries to explore) to add some new features that I never quite got into (pokemon contests, weather-thing?) And Sinnoh Pokemon? I just never bothered. I found the new cast of Pokemon ranging from recycled (Turtwig looks like illigitamate lovechild of squirtle and bulbasaur, most def) to just plain ridiculous (I'm sorry- Bidoof? BIDOOF?) I've heard good reviews for D/P, ao I'm sure it's a good game- just, not for me.The ridiculous abundance of Pokemon would get on my nerves far too much. I'm happy with the first twohundred-fifty-something.

Well, Battle Revolution sucks, and it's all because of Neon Colosseum.

Q: Who did I travel a great distance to get?

A: Deoxys.

Q: Who did I spend months leveling up?

A: Deoxys.

Q: Who did I use to fight Rosie?

A: Roselia.

Tips? Stick with wot you know. If you are using Deoxys because he is powerful, thats dumb. If you are using him because you like him, continue. I have stuck with mostly the same 6 pokemon since 1998 (Blastoise, Alakazam, Articuno, Golem, Primeape, and Dragonite). The only differences are that in the original I used Mew instead of Alakazam and Machamp instead of Primeape.

Actually, I kind of like it. I just need some way to beat the Wheel...or an Action Replay.
