Yes, they're the best. The evolved forms you mentioned there are the only ones I really didn't like. The rest of the Pokemon are pretty cool, except for Leafeon's name. They could have done a better job on that. >.>

Well what about those that have first-gen (meaning the first 151, or any of them associated with R/B/Y) roots such as Ho-Oh and Togepi? I think to be fair, and yet retain our classic loyalty, we should expand it to second-gens.

Everything after the second gen dipped in quality and only got worse. However, the online element in D/P wasn't too shabby and kept me playing. Plus the first-time-ever availability of ALL pokemon was a definite plus.

I've never made an actual team for battling other players. My teams usually just consist of my favorites, favorites for reasons other than stats. It gets me by in-game battles and I do all right.

My current team in Pearl is Torterra, Vaporeon, Honchkrow, Alakazam, Steelix, and Rapidash. All in mid-low 80s. If you'll notice all of them are first and second gen excluding Torterra, because he was my starter.

My pokedex is 438/493, and I have somewhere around 250 hours logged on my game. I have every starter, every Evee evolution, and about 25/30 legendaries on my pokedex. I currently posess 19 legendaries in one of my boxes. They are Zapdos, Suicune, Entei, Lugia, Mew, Groudon, Registeel, Regice, Regirock, Latios, Latias, Jirachi, Uxie, Azelf, Mesprit, Giratina, Heatran, Regigigas, and Palkia. I've had Kyogres, Mewtwos, Dialgas, and various other easily obtainable ones, but traded them away. I have an Articuno and Moltres pending, and traded my Raikou for the Latis. All of my legendaries are legit excluding the mew, which has a high probability of being cloned. However his Id Number points to him being legit from the palcity event.

I have to agree in saying that the first two gens were the best. I simply loved G/S/C. They added some great new features to the series. I only ever played Sapphire from R/S/E until recently. I quite enjoyed it as well but the new pokemon seemed a bit... blah... in places.

I hadn't played any pokemon for about 2 or 3 years until I decided to buy Pearl this year. It's a great game, but the actual new content is a bit short for my liking. What I loved about Gold and Silver was the fact that you could go to Kanto after finishing in Johto. Well, anyway, in Pearl I have about 390 pokemon caught, none of which I got through trading on the internet. I acquired them all through trading/migrating between Emerald, Firered (both of which I decided to buy after Pearl recindled my love of the series.), Pearl and my brothers copy of Diamond.

I managed to get to 75 in the Battle Tower with that team. A stupid Weavile KOed me Starmie is able to sweep nearly everything you'll come across in 1-2 shots and you just swap out Electivire if anything tries an electric attack. Dragonite is just there to smash anything the other two can't.

I also have a couple of other pokemon I use in the Battle Tower from time to time. A choicebander Arcanine with Crunch, Aerial Ace, Flare Blitz and ExtremeSpeed, a shiny Pidgeot, a Gallade, a mixed sweeper Houndoom with Thunder Fang, Iron Tail, Flamethrower and Dark Pulse, a Milotic with Haze, Ice Beam, Recover and Surf, a Magnezone with Thunderbolt, Magnet Rise, Hidden Power and Flash Cannon, a Mamoswine, a Togekiss with Grass Knot, Psychic, Nasty Plot and Aura Sphere, and a Scizor and Ninjask. Oh and a Rhyperior with Rock Wrecker, Megahorn, Earthquake and Curse. All the above are EV trained in one way or another.

I also have a couple of shinies - Pidgeot + Pidgey, both found through chaining, a Numel I found in emerald, a Machamp I found in Victory Road, a Bronzong I found near the Wayward cave place,

Surprisingly, I almost never lose with them. Weird...

Dragon types, eh? I favor fire types. I dunno why, but I seem to like more fire type Pokemon than any other. However, my favorite Pokemon happens to be an electric type.

yeah, my faforite(charizard) isn't dragon too, fire type was at first my faforite too, but then I thought dragons had the better looks and such, and almost every dragon spits fire

Anyway, I updated my Pokemon movesets in Pearl. Well, sort of. I replaced Flame Wheel with Fire Blast for Infernape and I replaced Muddy Water with Ice Beam for Gastrodon. I also replaced Luxray's Flash with Iron Tail (to be honest, I originally had Luxray learn Flash so I could use the move in Wayward Cave to catch a Gible, but it turns out I didn't need the move down in the basement floor after all). I think the movesets as they are now should do for now. I'll probably let Staraptor learn Brave Bird later on when it gets to the right level.

So... I just bought diamond (wooo....)

Yes. After you beat the Elite Four and Pokemon League Champion in either Diamond or Pearl, you can get an Eevee from Bebe, who is the admin of the Pokemon storage system. I forget where to find her, though.

Define "alternate forms." Including every single evolution, de-evolution, baby, second cousing twice removed, Great^3 uncle of, green/blue/red/orange/yellow/golden/purple, speed, defense, west/east, and transparent, there are 493. Arceus and Shaymin are not legitably obtainable, therefore bringing the total to 491.

It's entirely possible. It's been done quite a bit too.

It's entirely possible. It's been done quite a bit too.

Yes. Except I think there are only 17 Arceus forms, since there are 17 types.

My non-uber team (which I use on Wi-fi) consists of:
Dusknoir
Electivire
Charizard
Gallade
Milotic
Garchomp

And my favourite gen was G/S/C. The new features (day/night, radio, etc.) made them the best in the series for me.

There's a sprite for the ???-type, so that counts. Now, let's see how many Pokémon there are, including shinies.

Have you played the 'Pokemon Shiny Gold' hack (which runs on a GBA emulator)? It's a very realistic Gold remake (with added Hoenn pokemon) to keep you busy until Nintendo announce a real one.
