A new thread would probably draw more attention, and could be used for sign ups, etc. I'd think it would almost be required for good structure.

I would love to run the tournament but it has to done on a weekend and has to be over by sunday evening WHY? you ask because my mom wont let me play video games during the week.

If possible, I would prefer a slower tournament with something like one round a week. Some people (like myself) have busy schedules and it might take a few days just to find the right time to meet with an opponent, especially since this is an international forum where differing time zones also play a part. A fast tourney over one weekend would have far less people who could fully participate in it.

Then we need to set what kind of tournament a knock out or round robin i dont care and the rules would be like

1) Limit on number of pokemon and we will have to corrdinate this one the chat place its a lot easier to do it this way.

2) No ubers which are lengendarys you can have the lesser rare one in the game which includes Latias, Latios, the regis not regigigas,and lots of others

3) No glicthed pokemon at all will be disquified if it happens

We will need people to post there fc.

I personally think round robin works better, especially for smaller tourneys (16 people or less). I don't mind either way, and if others disagree I'm okay with any alternative. Whatever works.

I'm just looking forward to the chance of any tournament at all.

Ho-oh
Latios/Latias (when holding Soul Dew)
Groudon
Kyogre

Ideally, whichever ones you like best.

But if you're only interested in power, the sheer stat totals of Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp, and Slaking are all comparable to the average legendary, despite not being legendary themselves. Then there's Starmie, Gyarados, Blissey, Rhyperior, Electivire, certain starters...the list of stupidly powerful regular Pokemon is surprisingly large. (I use Slaking and can personally testify that it's a total beast.)

OH DEAR GOD NO! Wobbuffet can KO any pokemon unless you get really lucky and have a special attacking dark type out. But heres the specific reasons
1. Shadow tag, you cant switch away from the fett. Your stuck in the end
2. He has the 3rd? highest hp in the game making surviving attacks a breeze
3. Has both counter and mirrior coat, giving the advantage to counter any attack thrown at him.
4. If the opponent has physical/special moves the fett uses enchore, the person is stuck, they attack, the fett counters, they die. The end.

The fett is banned because in a 1 on 1, hes unbeatable. Counter, mirrior coat, enchore, and destiny bond I think. He has another move but I cant recall what it is.....but even like this you should see the fett's evil.

Actullay Manaphy is not an uber.

ok we wouldnt have to do it on the weekend but i wouldn't be able to battle anyone untill the weekend.

Mew is an uber, celebi is an uber, all the small base 100 stat people are all in the uber tier. The very low uber tier but still, there in there.

Methinks you've never faced off against someone who knows how to use one, eh? Trust me, it definitely deserves its place on the banned list.

The standard Wobbuffet scenario goes something like this:

-Wobbuffet switches in.

-Unable to switch out due to Shadow Tag, the enemy Pokemon has to decide whether to use a damaging attack or a nondamaging one. For future reference, let's label the damaging attack A, and the nondamaging one B. The attack is then used.

-Wobbuffet uses Encore.

I raised a Wobbuffet in Ruby because it was silly and I liked it. Then I actually used it against other people and saw how dirty it really is.

I thought Tail Glow was enough to push Manaphy over the edge?

Anyway, I've always heard that Celebi is debatedly not uber due to having a ton of weaknesses, including a 4x weakness to Bug. And Jirachi apparently isn't uber due to having a very shallow movepool you can see coming from a mile away. I really don't care where we choose to place them, though.

Luckily, I've never battled against someone with a Wobbuffet before.

If we are going to set up a tournament of some sort, I'd be glad to help. I've done this kind of thing before, and I really enjoyed it.

Does anyone know or have any ideas about who's going to set up the tournament thread, and who's going to help organise it?

i would love to help organize it. I have made my own tournament once and it was really fun so i would like to help organize it.

Yeah you could get skill swap by using a TM. It's very useful, getting rid of truant, it is then free to use it's super attack every turn but only in double battles. I'm not sure about the others though.

Dude. Let me tell you this right now: Don't expect to ever enter into the Pokemon metagame with only Ubers. Ever. Very few serious Pokemon players use Ubers in multiplayer battles.

There are plenty of good Pokemon, ranking through the tiers from Overused (Tyranitar, Garchomp, Blissey [a personal favorite of mine], etc.) all the way down to Neverused (Luvdisc, Corsola, etc.). I personally like me some Glaceon, some Vaporeon, a little Exeggcute (hey, with the right team that's a good Pokemon), and I plan on throwing in Shaymin once that event rolls through.

Hey, why don't we ban a Pokémon whose ability nearly RUINS their potential? Even though it has the nickname of RegiPHAIL, it still has enough power to annihilate the competion, what with its lowered Attack and Speed...It truly is the single most powerful Pokémon on the planet!

I think that if it's allowed in the Battle Tower, it should be allowed in tournaments.

Wait, what? No, I wasn't saying that every Pokemon is good. I'm just saying that if you use only Ubers, you're missing out on about 480 other choices. There are plenty of non-Ubers that, with the right EV-training and IV- and move-breeding can absolutely dominate any legendary.
