well the guy could keep the mothim but if he is looking for a team of warriors he should lose the mothim cuz mothim is more of a spectator bug type have common weaknesses. who can tell me that more than less than 2of ur pokemon have ice moves or fire moves or even flying moves...using bug type for battle is a high risk dude

Okay, seeing as we're talking about making teams, I'm forming a team in Diamond as well. I started a new game because I got the rest of the GBA games and if I have new games on all of them and Diamond and Pearl, I can start from scratch and not make things complicated.

Anyway, so far I have Prinplup, Luxio, Staravia, and Zubat. I'm saving the last two spots for a Buneary and a Ponyta. I'll probably swap Zubat later for something else once it becomes a Crobat because I won't need two flying types.

nice selection... my advice is to give ponyta a spot in ur team until u get heatran cuz they are hardly any fire types in the starting quarters of the game, i would also suggest catching a magikarp and evolving it into gyarados because his stats and move learning abilities are impressive and are sure to help u throughout the game, interms of staravia being a normal/flying i personally prefer pidgeot

Oh, and I'm NOT evolving a Magikarp anymore. That was frustrating. If I want a Gyarados, then I'll catch a wild one once I'm able to.

yep, training up the old worthless magikarp can be fustrating but i bet u r doing it wrong. place magikarp 1st in ur pack, seek out pokemon like ponyta, chansey, dustox, Misdreavus to battle against. those pokemon give u a generous sum of exp. do not use the magikarp just swicth him out

Also, once it evolves, it still has the same crappy moves as before, so you've got to train the Gyarados even more that way until it gets good moves. >.>

Or you could just use TM's.

Yes, if you have TMs/HMs it can learn.

Gyarados will be stronger is you train it from a Magikarp.

are you sure u talking about my favorite pokemon??? let the master teach u... dude as soon as magikarp evoles at lv20, gyardos will learn bite, lv23 dragon rage, lv26 leer, lv29 twister, lv32 ice fang, lv35 aqua tail, after that gyarados learns other moves but i dont both with them. i kicked but thoughout the game with the above moves, plus if ur gyardos has a good nature even better. right now my gyrados is stronger than my starter. he's at lv85. my suggested moves are bite, flamethrower, ice beam, surf.... anything worth having is worth working for.

No offense but that moveset is kind of silly for a Gyarados. Gyarados excels with physical moves like Bite, Aqua Tail, Waterfall etc. Three of the moves you listed are special attack based moves. Gyarados' special attack stat is far inferior to his attack. You'd be much much better of with a moveset like Waterfall/Aqua Tail, Ice Fang, Earthquake and Dragon Dance. After 2-3 DDs Gyarados can sweep just about anything with that moveset.

you are partially correct, accept u left one the influence of natures plus am more concerned with what hurts the foe more... in my opinion surf is a much more effective move when compared to aqua tail plus it does damage to more than one pokemon in dual battles. gyarados already has a great attack and speed, so dragon dance is a waste of a turn, ice beam is stonger than ice fang, i do plan on give my gyarados earthquake tho... i have been a gyarados lover for years i have tried everything when it comes to gyarados i even have a team of gyaradoses...yes six of them {including a shiny red one}

Eh, I'm not using Roserade anymore, so I have a lv. 32 Gabite in its place. I'm training it more, but I'm surely not using it in the upcoming battles ahead. Instead I let it hold Experience Share so it can still get stronger.

My Pokemon aren't yet powerful enough to actually beat the Elite Four or possibly even the rival battle at the entrance, but as I keep battling there, my Pokemon will eventually be strong enough. I can hardly wait to get my hands on a National Pokedex!

Twi: So what if I haven't beaten it yet? I like to take my time and actually enjoy the game.

Just a question: How many hours have you got at the moment?

can u list ur team members, their levels and moves please?

Infernape Lv. 47: Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Mach Punch, Rock Climb
Luxray Lv. 47: Thunderbolt, Thunder Fang, Iron Tail, Crunch
Staraptor Lv. 46: Fly, Aerial Ace, Pluck, Close Combat
Machoke Lv. 44: Cross Chop, Submission, Rock Smash, Strength
Gastrodon Lv. 45: Earthquake, Surf, Ice Beam, Waterfall
Gabite Lv. 32: Dragon Rage, Dragon Claw, Slash...I don't remember the last move. >.>

See, not strong enough to beat them yet, but they'll get there. :]

Twi: Not sure, but that's not the same file I've had since I got the game. See, my bro wanted to play it awhile back, so I let him erase my file in Pearl, which was right at the point to where I was going to the Pokemon League. I decided to keep my newly started file in Diamond so we'd be close to the same point and make things easier in terms of trading, etc. I started a new file in Pearl and I had the same one for awhile, until I completely forgot where I left off and had to start over again (I tend to do that because I can never figure it out). I've had that same file since.

So I had to start over twice, and I take my time with games in general.
