Question Different Guitar Hero?

I rented guitar hero 3 and its pretty good game but i wish it had more of my favorite songs and artists. The 80s and 90's and normal rock stuff and all thats cool but i really am into alternative more and some punk rock like green day. I'm just thinking is it far off from poeple making game varients of guitar hero? like have more spread out genres for more people with different tastes? I think it could be a good idea and id like it a lot more. Like on one game or seperate games have like a alternative version, metal version, punk, etc. I wonder if anyones thinking of that yet? It could make a lot of money to more spread out audiences. Cause then you can play all your favorite stuff kinda. Think this is a good idea? Is there anything close to this being thought of in the game world yet? Im thinking it will be in the future eventually but id really like it soon. What do you guys think?

Re: Different Guitar Hero?

I played a Demo of it, and found my favourite songs on it, especially Tenacious D's "The Metal" (It speaks the truth of punk rock these days). What could have been a good option is that there would be a "Edit" mode where you can take songs from your hooked on USBs (Ipod, Memorysticks) and even from the computer, put them up, and make your own notes and speed up and all. I honestly think that would be a great addition to put in and you'd unlock it when you finish the game.

Re: Different Guitar Hero?

Exactly! Thats what me and my friend talked about! That would be awesome. You'll probably be able to just plug in a super ipod nano 1000 generation in the game and play any song by the time were 60.

Re: Different Guitar Hero?

Great minds think alike. I sometimes find Neversoft's taste in music now somewhat...noobish since they started making Tony Hawk American Wasteland. Maybe it's time FANS decided what to play. Maybe it takes too much work, I don't know, but it's worth putting it in. Benami should have also done that with the DDR series as well.

Re: Different Guitar Hero?

I want custom songs on Guitar Hero 2.

I've seen videos of people playing some of my favorite songs.
Those songs aren't on mine- and I WANT THEM. ;_;

Re: Different Guitar Hero?

I think they should make genre based games. like one expansion per say of all hard rock, one of classical rock, another for metal, another for punk and alternative rock, etc. I think it would be nice to be able to target specific styles rather than a mash. However, I do enjoy most kinds of rock, so it's not a huge problem for me.

Re: Different Guitar Hero?

Isn't there another musical game coming out tomorrow? (20th) And it contains Guitar, Bass, Microphone and Drums. It is like Guitar Hero but with more instruments. The note things come toward you like the thing in GH. So yeah, I think its called 'Rock Band' Here is a demonstration of it on Youtube:

Re: Different Guitar Hero?

thats not too different song-wise and genre-wise though. It's got basically same kind of songs for what ive seen.

zeldask8rs' idea is what im talkin about, it would be awesome if they divided into different genres like that.
