Getting A 360 Soon: First Game Ideas?

Ok, I've finally saved up enough of my money to get a X-Box 360. There's only one problem. I don't know what game to get first. I'm thinking of getting the Game of the Year Edition of Oblivion because it includes Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

All above are great games, you could also consider Colin McRae-Dirt, Forza 2, Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas. All of them are great games.

Oblivion would definitely be a good start; especially if you like RPG's.

Other great, must-own 360 games include:

- Gears of War
- Bioshock
- Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (1 and 2)
- Call of Duty 3 (4 is coming out soon, so I'd just wait though)

Those are just a few. Don't forget that Halo 3 is coming out soon as well (which, is going to obviously be epic).

If you want a good RPG, of course Oblivion, though I feel its over rated. There are alot of great shooters, the few i would suggest are Rainbow Six Vegas, Gears of War, and Halo 3 once its out. If you want a fighting game I would suggest Dead or Alive 4.

Halo 3 is coming out in 15 days. Be sure to get that. ;]

Other than that... BioShock seems good enough so far (I just started.)

And get Gears too. Thats probably the best game on the 360 so far.

I don't have a 360 (I prefer Wii), but I know that you should get Gears of War.

And bioshock. imo, bioshock is one of the best 360 games out there so far

I played the demo for it, and I thought I was still playing Halo 2. So much like it, just a few new weapons and levels. Pointless.

I'd say GoW though. i really like it. And Guitar Hero 2, if you can afford it.

yes, pick up Halo 3, Bioshock, Eternal Sonata seems real good too, Stranglehold's kind of an asian Max Payne, and Gears of War I guess. I feel it's pretty boring, I beat it once and just...put it down. Very repetitive. Yes, it's a shooter and all shooters are somewhat repetitive, but Gears of War especially for some reason.

yeah, it was a BETA version, key word is BETA, as in its not finished yet and they have made tons of changes since then. anyway, I forgot to mention Dead Rising, and Bioshock, both very excellent games, and if you want a very relaxing game, that is yes pretty kiddyey, Viva Pinata, its actually pretty fun, kinda like animal crossing or harvest moon.

If you like Oblivion give Two Worlds a try as I hear it's like Oblivion. Enchanted Arms is a decent RPG if your looking for one. If your looking for great single player shooter definatly go for Prey and The Darkness as both are two of my absolute favorite 360 games. And if you into horror games Condemned: Criminal Origins is a must. If your getting a Gold account and like playing shooters onliine look into getting Battlefield 2.

I would only really recommend Gears Of War if you intend on getting a Gold account and play it online as that is were the game is at its best.

I heard it completely pales in comparison to Oblivion. Bad/choppy/glitchy of character models and simply bad rendered animations, lack of a decent main quest, poor controls, and bad voice acting is, from what I've heard of, sets Two Worlds apart from Oblivion.

I'd stick with just Oblivion if I were you.

Meh most of the games i'd recommend are up there already but try out Overlord. I found it fun and amusing at the same time.

1.) Two Worlds is utter ****. It seems to only move at 15 FPS, the animations suck, the graphics are bleh, the fighting engine is boring, and it feels like a PS1 game.

2.) Enchanted Arms is TERRIBLE. Terrible Voice Acting, completely linear, the plot is retarded/nonexistent and the battle system makes me want to kill a baby.

Gears, Dead Rising, DiRT, and Burnout Revenge are good choices.

Well most of my recomendations are given already but would recomend Crackdown as well, its just a fun game were you can do almost anything you want with super powers

Yeah, then after about an hour, you realize that anything means "Shoot stuff, crash stuff, and jump high."

I think its a pretty fun game, not a must own. But I don't regret buying it.

Bioshock, GRAW series. Don't get Gears of War, though. It's graphics and violence will keep you entertained for a bit... but then you'll realize how ****ing bad it is and just toss out the window.
