NEW GAMES

Mario Galaxy
For the Wii, 1-2 Players
Wow. This is wowness. This is like November's Holy Grail to Wii gamers, and you know why?
Because it ROCKS. It looks good, it's been worked on for a long time, there's a lot of hype.... Yep. It should be awesome. I'm definitely getting it. Due Nov. 12th.

Star Trek: Conquest
For the Wii, probably 1 player
Well well, the old crusty series gets to be relived again in a game. First off, let me say that I don't have high hopes for this. Instead of being a cool, 'Wiimote=phaser' thing, it's a turn-based weirdish thing. I dunno. Time will tell. Also, I don't think many people will get it at the start, due to the game above. Due Nov. 13th

Bleach: Shattered Blade
For the Wii, 1-2 players
Another awesome OR crash and burn game. One of the things that could make it awesome would be very comprehensive Wiimote usage, and if that failed it could make it sucky. I like the series, but knowing it, if you don't follow it too closely you'll be way left behind. I'd say that if you like the series, get it, if not, don't. Due Oct. 9th - Tomorrow!

Half Life: Orange Box
For the XBOX 360
I had to put this in here because it is popular!
On Oct. 10, a package of Half Life, HL 2: 1 & 2, As well as Team Fortress 2 and Portal. Not a whole lot to say 'cuz I don't play this kind of game, but it looks pretty cool.

FIFA Soccer 08
For the Wii and everything else, 1-4 players (2 online)
I dunno. I'm not a big fan of sports games and ESPECIALLY not of games that come out for every system the producers can get their greedy little hands on. *sigh*... that's life. Due Oct. 9th

Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast
For the Wii, 1-4 Players
This looks like a good game, but I feel it's caught up in this maelstrom of 'get-all-games-out-so-christmas-shoppers-can-get-em' games. Too bad. Oh well... if only there was another holiday like Christmas... it would break up the game distribution, not to mention the extra presents! (Nintendo, you listening?) Ah... the dreams of a gamer. Out yesterday.

SONIC CONFIRMED FOR SSB: BRAWL!!

I can't comment on this. I'm busy being attacked by flying pigs and prisoners released from the now-frozen underworld.

No offense, but why would I come here for info when I could just go to Nintendo.com for their info? BTW, what you got here is pretty cool anyways.

And if anyone wants to know anything about Brawl or Smash, Smash World Forums and Smash Bros. DOJO!! are the places to be.

Because I find it hard to keep up and keep track of what Nintendo says is happening.

Super Smash Bros. Melee delayed to February 10th in the Americas

Sad, but also true. All of us hopeful fans must wait for another 2 months.

Quite tragic.

Also, Nintendo.com takes forever to update itself. It gets one or two news updates a week, and one of those is the Monday "Wii Channel" update. I find that website to be completely unreliable when it comes to ASAP news... and, frankly, in some cases, I've found it to be late, even. *shrugs*

I rather like this setup. It's condensed and can be found all in one spot. Very nice.

Monster Hunter 3
For the Wii and NOT PS3
Not much is known about this, but it was stolen from the PS3! Perhaps this is a developer saying the Wii is better.
Now it's an exclusive for the Wii! Yeah, that's pretty much all I care about this game.

Avatar: The last Airbender - The Burning Earth
For the Wii and everything else, 1-2 players
Again, a game made for everything... just don't think it'll be any good whatsoever. I mean, this sort of thing has potential! Imagine what the Wiimote could do! ... but no. I just don't think it'll be worth it. Sigh. Due October 16th- today!

Victorious Boxers: Revolution
For the Wii, 1-2 players
Now this looks fun. Though the same-ish version of the game for other platforms is being worked on, it's by a different company. All you developers listening? THAT IS HOW YOU DO IT. Treat the Wii version as something for aliens. It is nothing like the others (Due October 16th- today).
Guidelines:
1. Each design studio shall be no less than 20 miles apart
2. Each designer is locked inside a room, tied in a straitjacket and told to type with their teeth
3. Each storyline artist shall be locked inside a room and given drugs
4. Each background designer shall be a background designer
5. Anyone who enters the building shall be eliminated
6. Anyone who leaves the building shall be eliminated
7. Anyone who thinks about the building while on vacation with a lizard shall be promoted
8. The game is finished when the game is finished.

This is supposed to be the Wii version of Proving Grounds. The idea is that you make your skateboarder and its life really in-depth.
I'm skeptical, mainly because it comes out for so many other systems. Never a good sign. Oh well...

Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure

Sigh... More all-platform cheesiness. Oh well, maybe it'll be good.
The story sounds pretty good; the title kind of says it all...

WiiWare - NOT Virtual Console!
WiiWare has finally come out! Prepare to enjoy titles such as Pokemon: Farm, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles 2, Star Soldier R, Dr. Mario and more! I'd explain what WiiWare IS, but I'm currently a little confused about that. Help would be appreciated!
Anyway, EXPECT!

Motorcycles in Mario Kart!
The next Mario Kart (for the Wii) will supposedly have Motorcycles in it. I've heard it from both sides of the story, one saying it's great, the other saying it's not, but The overruling theme in the 'not' category is that it's not as original. I have to say that I support whatever decision Nintendo makes, 'cause I'm a mindless sheep! No, really, I think it'll be fine.

Mario Galaxy
For the Wii, 1-2 players
I think I've already covered this, but anyway it's another awesome Mario game.
Supposedly it has you traveling to different worlds. Pretty cool, eh? Anyway, due November 12. YAY!

Rock Band
For other systems, 1-4 players
A spawn-off of the popular Guitar Hero's, but this seems to have gone one better.
Now, you can be a Guitarist, drummer, singer AND um... other guitarist!
GOING TO BE AWESOME!!!

Okami
For the Wii, 1 player
Yay, it's finally coming to the Wii!
For those of you that don't know, Okami is a very artsy, cool game revolving around a wolf-like being. Something about color. Anyway, if you're like me, you wondered why this wasn't coming out for the Wii originally. It just looks so... cool and different. really can't wait. Oh, and if you're apprehensive about 'yet another port', no worries. The producer himself said that it wouldn't be. Due Q3 '08, somewhere in fall, so like a year from now.

Shrek: Ogres and Donkeys
For the EVERYTHING! 1-4 players?
Yeah. SUCKS. Or will. I may be wrong.

I've never been a fan of this type of game, myself, but it looks okay.

Another freaky game. Yep... kinda creepy...
Anyway, It's supposed to be short, but TOTALLY SCARY.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
For the Wii, 1 player
Turn-based strategy at it's finest, this looks excellent. Lots of people like it, it's getting great reviews...
This is definitely on my wish list.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga
For everything, 1 player?
Yeah, a mashed-up lego star wars game. It's supposed to include extras, many episodes etc, but I'm going to stick with my realistic Star Wars. Your choice, though.

Ratatouille
For the EVERYTHING, 1-2 players?
Yeah. Another port....
My advice: stay away from a game if it releases on the Gamecube and PS2. It shows the developers are desperate.
Ah, well.

Battalion Wars 2
For the Wii, 1-4 players?
Ahh.. Now there's a nice title. Simple... to the point.
Anyway, this looks fun, especially with its online capabilities. Woo! Yay Wii online! (snickers at PS3 and XBOX 360 owners who have to pay for it) Yeah... looks like a 3D RTF game.

Ben 10: Protector of Earth
For everything, 1 player?
Yeah. Another port. This was SO CLOSE to going in the 'Weird' section.
Sigh... wasted potential. Well, never mind.

The Simpsons Game

I thought this might have potential, but apparently the Wii controls are bad.

Don't have that much money, but you want to get your friend something nice?
Get a $4 VC game! All you need is a Wii point card.
Nice move, Nintendo.

SSB: Brawl Level Editor!
New to SSBB is a feature that allows you to edit a level, creating it from scratch!
Position blocks, traps, obstacles, etc. You can even set the music playing!
*I smell a Halo 3 spin off.*

You may be asking yourself "Hey! Why did this creep put Assassin's Creed before Mario Galaxy? Galaxy is way more important!" The answer is, of course...
THIS GAME FREAKIN ROCKS.
It's just....
Okay. Just listen to the storyline. 'You're an Assassin, living in Damascus, part of an elusive, secreted society called the Hashashim.' I mean, come on? Can you NOT see that as an awesome game?
My only regret is that it doesn't come out for the Wii. *sigh*
Given a 9 by Gamespot, which is kinda stupid.

Super Mario Galaxy

Ah. Now we get down to this. This is the creme' de la creme'. This is RAWK. I am so getting it tonight, and it's frankly sad that I don't have it already. Anyway, this sounds pretty awesome, with the SUITS. you go into suits and become a bee, or a ghost, or more! I mean, don't you just wanna hug it and squeeze and squeeze and squeeze and squeeze....
One problem: 2 player = 2nd player collects star bits. Doesn't sound fun to me, but then I never intended it for parties either.

Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2
For the Wii, 1-4 players
Now, if you want a party game, this is where you head. It's so packed to the brim with minigames, cuteness, fun, extras, and more that if you opened it, it would EXPLODE! I would totally get this if I wasn't getting Galaxy.

Need For Speed: ProStreet
For everything, 1-4 players
Another mass-produced game. I had thought a racing game of its caliber would be good regardless of the possibly-sucky controls, but I guess I was wrong. I hear they sold out to corporations this time even more. If that's possible.

Ah, Resident Evil. You know a game has to kick some serious trash if it feels safe having a word like 'Umbrella' in its title.

I'm not gonna get it, but it has 32 player online capability, which is almost enough to sell me.

Mario Galaxy
For the Wii, 1-2 players
Well, this is TEH AWESOMEZ. It's so kiddy, so nice... The best game of the year, for sure.
Granted, the storyline isn't anything to gape at, but everything else more than makes up for it.
It's a great party game on some levels, wonderful to look at, and FRESH! So nice and fresh. It makes you wish for every game to be like this.
Great suits, great ideas... every level is like a completely different game.
One problem: My friend brought this to my attention and now I can't stop thinking about it.
You know how in the Super Smash Bros. Brawl screenshots, Mario looks cool and TEXTURED? Well, try as I might, I can't find any textures in the game. It doesn't bother me that much, but It's kind of strange.
Also, there's some news at the bottom about this! Check it out!

I can't really explain what it is except that it's Guitar Hero, only better and more instruments. Personally, I'd love to pick up that microphone and KARAOKE AWAY!
Actually, it's soon coming out for the PS2. Weird.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies

Now HERE is a great lookin' game.
To me, this seems like one of those, fresh, engaging games that have no regard for 'normal' games.
I think that this is a game I would definitely play (were it not for the other 300 coming out already).

AMF Bowling
For the Wii, 1-4 players
Ah, another bowling game. I'm kinda tired of bowling games, though, so I don't have much of a comment.
It's like Wii Sports Bowling suddenly spawned lots of bowling games. *sigh*.

Ghost Squad

Contrary to its name, this has nothing to do with ghosts. It's another 1ST PERSON SHOOTER!!
I don't mind telling you, I'm getting tired of these WW1-2 based shooters. SIGH.

Soulcalibur Legends

Ah, the old slash-chop-disembowel.
Good times. Anyway, it looks good, though under-hyped and buried under tons of other games.
Still, if you're a fan, I totally recommend getting it. The controls should be fun.

Trauma Center: New Blood
For the Wii, 1 player
MMM-mm. Trauma Center. The only time when ER is FUN!
This has always seemed like a good, fun, clean (um...) game to me.
The last game really integrated the Wiimote, and I can't see why this wouldn't.
It's also fully voiced now. No more boring, scrolling text.

Star Trek: Conquest
For everything, 1 player
I already touched on this last time, so I'll be brief.
Yeah, good graphics, looks good feels good, etc.

Indoor Sports
For the Wii
Odd. Even though it's due December 3rd, it has practically no info.
No confirmed boxshot, no details...
the description on GS is 'A collection of indoor games.' How indistinct can you get?

Cruis'n Velocity
For the GAMEBOY ADVANCE, 1 player?
Normally I wouldn't cover this, but I mean, a game put on the GAMEBOY? It's not 2000, is it?
IS IT?
Anyway, this racing game is due the 30th of November.

Mario Galaxy = Highest Rated Game!
Well, the 10-year-long (about) spree of Pwnage has ended for Ocarina of Time.
Years ago, it trumped all other game reviews, and has stayed up there since. Now it has been toppled by Mario Galaxy.
It's kinda hard for me to pick sides...

The Wii Zapper, a plastic connector for the Wiimote & nunchuk is now out.

I finally 'finished' Mario Galaxy. The end was breathtaking, if a little sad.
And just when you think you've finished... it turns out there's WAY more!
I've raised my score, because it ROCKS.

NEW GAMES

NIGHTS: Journey of Dreams
For the Wii, 1-2 players
Now HERE's an attractive looking bundle.
Apparently it centers a bunch around flying, and is very good at it.
An interesting bit: you can use the Wiimote, Wiimote & Nunchuk, OR the GC Controller.
Odd, huh? You'd think it would be perfectly suited to the 'mote.
This marks the end of the highly publicized games for this year, my friends. Never fear, though! We can always wait for SSBB.

You see? The 360 and PS3 may have the great, hyped games, but the Wii and DS have the innovative, amazing ones.
Ever played Jenga? You know, you pull the blocks out from a tower, and if it falls, you lose. Now imagine this Wii-ized and done with the Wiimote.
Bring 3 friends, instant fun, right? Quite possibly.
Doesn't ship for a bit.

The Golden Compass
For the EVERYTHING, 1 player
The book turned movie turned game.
Well, I certainly don't expect anything special out of this.
Released for all systems.... SIGH.
This could have actually been kind of fun (probably) if it had 2+ player.
Ah well, now it's a toss-up.

Godzilla Unleashed
For the Wii, 1-4 players
I actually like these, button-masher games. I've always been good at them.
Who doesn't like crushing your opponents with buildings and the like?
Even if you're a giant, lightning-breathing lizard?
Who indeed....

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
For the Wii & PS3, 1-2 players
Meh. Another Dragonball Z game.
*sigh*.
I used to be a fan (sort of), but this really kind of pushes it over the edge for me.
I expect nothing special, nothing innovative, nothing new.
However, you'll see lots of characters, so WHOOPEE.

Alvin and the Chipmunks
For all minus the X360
Aww, poor 360 gets left out. Sad, right?
WRONG.
This game is a monster of bad sound, horrible graphics, distasteful play and WORST difficulty.
Dressed up like GH3, only horrible.
1.7 out of 10 by IGN. What else is there to say?

Well, it appears Mario Galaxy has finally beat the all-time-high-score of Ocarina Of Time, which hasn't been beat for over 8 years!

Nintendo, often thought to be the most family-friendly game company, has received a 0!
Kinda shakes your faith, doesn't it?

Super Swing Golf Season 2
For the Wii, 1-4 players?
Releasing a year minus a day from it's earlier self (season 1), this looks like a lot of fun.
One of the greatest parts of the Wii is how it can justify having really kiddy characters, keeping the focus on the game.
It may not be as fun as Halo, or some other awesome-protagonist-game, but it definitely fits with the Wii.
I'd pick this up if you can't find any blockbuster game to, which is so far from my reality it's not funny.

Ahh, good old Indy 500.
I don't think that this is a bad game, necessarily, but if I want a racing game, I'll take a bigger title, like Burnout or NFS.

Check Mii Out', a Wii channel that lets you show off and enter your Miis into contests.
It's great fun, and very fluid, but I wish they'd done this when there was more hype.

Basically, it's great, explore blah blah blah, but beyond that I would guess it's pretty empty.

Wow. Wowee wowa weee wow.
Not very often do you see a game so ragged on by fans, players and communities alike.
I had a lot of trouble finding a good word about it, and when I finally did, they said it was 'Okay'.
DO NOT BUY.

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity
For the Wii and PS2?!? 1-4 players
Oookay, a little weird that it's coming out for the PS2, but this looks like a pretty nice game, good for parties.
I think this game has a good chance; it has pretty good reviews, plus we don't really have anything like it.
Back when the 1st Sonic Riders came out, I was like 'Meh, enough games like it already.' Right now, I feel like that option hasn't really been fully explored for the Wii. Could be cool, could be mediocre. What...ev.

Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law
For the Wii, PS2 and PSP, 1 Player
Apparently this is off a TV show on Adult Swim.
Never heard of it, but apparently enough people have that they've made it into a game.
From what I hear, it's a hilarious show with tavern humor and lewd jokes abound...
...but some things should stay a TV show.
Bottom Line: If you're getting it for the show, great, if you're going for the gameplay... skip it.

Sorry about the language, but EH... what can ya do.
Anyways, this is a game off the popular TV show, but I can't say I'm looking forward to anything given the last 2 Jackass games got 6.5 ratings from GS.

Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Adventures
For the Wii, PS2 and PSP, 1-2 players?
Whoa whoa whoa...let's not get any ideas there.
'Big Willy' is the mascot of a restaurant chain...
and 'Willy' is his name.
Anyway, this is pretty far in the future; March 4, and I can't see why they won't have given up on the PS2 by then.

Rockband - Maybe not on Wii
Well, sorry fans... although rumors have been flying about the game being featured on the Wii, it seems that (quote)
"We have no plans for a Wii version of Rockband as of yet."
Although that doesn't mean we WON'T get a Wii version, it just means that we won't get it for a while... if we do.

Rockband vs. Guitar Hero
Well, as you should know, this is a battle between 2 warring games... One is a peppy newcomer, the other a steadfast old-timer.
I have personally played both, and though I've found that GH3 most certainly has the better song list...
Once you go Rockband, you're never coming back. I mean, why pay that much for GH3 when you can pay some more... and get to sing, drum and bass?
It's as simple as this; why buy 'Guitar Hero' if you can buy 'Guitar, Bass, Sing and Drum Hero'.
