That's just...so ignorant. Does that mean it is also illegal to play it in the UK? I really hope that Holland doesn't follow this example!

I'm sure it won't actually be illegal to play it in the UK, just for retail stores to sell it. This is getting pathetic now, why must the UK have to suffer with banned games?

It's only for retailers but still... Oh and the game will probably get banned in Germany and Australia too. If I remember correctly the first one was banned in those countries.

If it goes on like that we should be happy that there comes a PAL version at all!

The only ones happy about this will be Rockstar, the game gets major press and a possible cult status.

I believe the original achieved such status for a while, didn't it get banned for a period after some guy smashed up his sibling with a hammer, or something along those lines? Of course that was the games fault.

Afterall, Its better to juct place all the blame on games, tv movies, music instead of people taking responsibility for their own actions.

And, I can see why they would ban it. Hell, the UK banned nunchucks for a while, and they had to edit Mikey in the original TMNT cartoon... While the others got away with swords and sai's.

IGN, huh? More like jobsworths and politicians being IGNorant mooks if they well and truly believe that video games cause young/older gamers to become violent savages! Ugh, everything becomes a scapegoat at some point, like the way metal music got it once before or something else before that. Of course it's always the game's fault, never the ever-loving parents that never watch their children and leave them to their own devices and watch out for signs their sweeties exhibited problems before that naughty little game corrupted their angelic minds, the poor dears.

On a serious note, hopefully it won't be a complete ban in the UK, and that the jobsworths are just blustering to make it look to the public as if they're doing something worthwhile. Hopefully non-retail stores will still be able to sell the game and that it won't be outlawed, even if only a PAL version is avaliable. Manhunt wasn't such a bad game, most people are well able to tell the difference between fantasy and reality unless there were already problems to begin with before playing video games. If video games were truly the cause of violence, I guess they must have been played a lot during the Crusades, The Cold War, WW1, WW2 and the like.

Because somebody in the UK thought it was a wise idea to give government the powers it shouldn't have.

Between a katana, a sai, a quarterstaff, and a nunchuk, isn't the nunchuck the least lethal? An that's the one they chose to ban? I don't know much about Manhunt, so I don't really have an opinion.

I do think games like Grand Theft Auto are stupid though. I'm all for playing as an evil person from time to time, but not playing a game where you commit major realworld crime (with the exception of murder). Does that make sense?

The idea of these games is so you can do things that you wouldn't get to do in real life. And Grand Theft Auto isn't exactly realistic. I mean, if you go outside and shoot someone, you can't get a healthbar, kill 10 people before police come after you, and stroll into an army base, stealing a tank!

As for this Manhunt thing, it just sounds ridiculous. I get the feeling that a Victorain feeling about children is still dominant around these parts, and most people should know the difference between game and life. That's why we have an adult rating, so little children can't buy it. Then it's with the respnsbility of the parent, and if a child does play it and do something silly, the parent gets blamed!

Makes me laugh how Manhunt 2 gets banned but other games like GTA and Scarface which have a ton of violence and have decapitation in them arn't banned.

The reason given that I heard on the news was that it encourages stalking, or some **** like that.
