Wii 2 comming in 2 years?/ huge PS3 price drop?

Wrong. Every company is thinking of their next console. Nintendo was thinking of this gens right after the GameCube's release.

Hm... we'll just have to wait and see. I think it would be miserable for everyone if Wii only lasts for another year and they make us buy a new console.

Not to mention if the Wii is going to get a update - it would not nearly take as long. It took Nintendo all there time to decide what the Wii would do. Since they do what it does and how it works, its just a matter of improving that. Much easier than starting from scratch.

I agree full heartedly. Especially if the Wii profits just immediately start slowing down drastically we might see a Second Wii (Which I wouldn't really doubt be the next Console) to come out in 3.5-4.5 years. For me 3 years would be a pretty good amount of time for me. I think that at least by then i might have a HDTV and a HDWii would even be useable.

Well u sort of have Red Steel 2 to look forward to. Thats all i can think of for Wii thats an FPS. Well u also have MP3 which is a First Person Adventure and you get to use Samus's blaster. For me thou, i'm pretty much set until like January with games for the Wii. I'm not to picky and I'm sort of a Nintendo Fanboy. I got Wii sports and Madden 07 (might get 08) and that'll hold me until the 25th or so (i got the Wii 5 days ago). then I'll get DBZ Budokai T2. That'll be a good month, then there's ExciteTruck, Elebits, and Manhunt2 (that's a good 2 1/2). And by then MP3, Galaxy, and BRAWL will be out which will last (together) a whole year. No Joke. I loved Melee to death and i'll probably commit scuicide if Brawl doesn't come out this year.

Currently I'm inclined to agree that the Wii is showing a complete and total dearth of games worth buying, I have three, and I don't really play them all that often, while my DS sees near-constant use.

However, as my previous post showed, my agreement with the article stopped there.

I find the idea of the Wii 2, no matter what kind of upgrade it is, unlikely. Consoles are re-imagined when their sales start to drop. So far you still can't find the Wii in stores up here.

In addition, Nintendo has never been big on improving consoles (Handhelds? Yes, consoles, no.) there was one NES, one SNES (though they did give it a disk drive, sort-of) one N64, one GCN, and presumably one Wii. Especially since, at this point, it's perfectly obvious that the target market for the Wii doesn't care about any of its 'missing' features, such as high-def, DVD playback, etc.

yeah the Wii needs more 3rd party support. EA, Sega, and Ubisoft aren't enough unless Red Steel 2 gets an incredible increase in great gameplay, but even then y'know. The PS and PS2 had incredible support which gained the atten of everyone. Hundreds of tittles of hundreds of genres instead of just 5 of the same.

Which is why i also suggest people BUY MANHUNT 2 NO MATTER WAT! EVEN IF U HAVE IT 4 PS2. 3rd party developer need to know that even thou if ur not Nintendo u can still sell games on the Wii. 3rd party poeple won't just take a chance and produce 5 million dics if they're not certain it'll sell. Unlike in the PS3 where say things have been sold (in the previous consoles). Even though the amount of Wii sold are *like* tripple that of PS3. Which would be stupid not to sell on that console and pretty soon it'll pass the 360. The Wii is on a hot streak and if they get more 3rd party tittles it'll be unstopable.

didn the 64 had the 64DD or something? I don't know what it was called. It only came out in Japan.

That was an add-on, not a complete re-design/upgrade of the system. It was a seperate unit that you plugged into the bottom of the N64, just like the GCN's Game Boy Player.

I believe it was answer to the PS1's CD which apparently had more Memory capacity than the N64. The N64 DD expansion was used to increase the storage capacity or cartridges 64MB more.

Also the DD expansion could enable more levels, minigames, even saving personal data for games on the N64.
