Just Got A Wii...

I just got my Wii, and I have about $125 dollars to spend. What do you all recommend me to get? Is the LAN adapter worth it? Should I get a couple games? Should I get extra controllers? I honestly am not sure what to get. And is it worth it to get a SD card?

Definitely don't get any new controllers. Not yet.
I'd recommend TP, SPM for now. Those are the only good ones around now.

LAN Adapter: Used for getting firmware updates from the internet, playing multiplayer online. If you don't have a wireless at home you could get it if you plan playing online, it's not a necessity at the moment I find.

Games: Zelda: TP, the other games I find sub-par at the moment unless your a big fan of mini-games.

Controllers: A big yes, get atleast an extra one so you can play Sports against each other, you don't need 4 controllers to bowl or golf with 4 players so two in total is enough at the moment.

SD card: No, not yet. Get an extra one when it's full. Unless your going to download a lot of games from the virtual console it will go allong for a while.

Go and get a few games first.

Get Super Paper Mario, or TP, or WarioWare, and get some VC games. I'd say Star Fox 64, if you're in to those types of games. Maybe one extra controller, if you like multiplayer.

The lan adapter is totally worth it. you get weather news and you get somthing like e-mail, oh yeah you get the internet channel too. then you will get to get on ZU by wii anytime you want. Wo0t! Get TP, its way better for wii than GC. DBZ BT 2 is also good for wii. I dont see the point in geting a SD card yet. If you have brothers and sisters you should get extra wiimotes. Thats all i got so far.

It sounds like I'll get a LAN adapter. I guess I'll check into how much it costs. I'll definitely get another Wii mote, I'm not sure if I'll get another nunchuck.

And Super Paper Mario sounds fun, but I'll wait to decide on any games. And out of curiosity, is Wii Play any good? And what is it?

Honestly, don't buy the Nintendo made san disk memory card. Its a HUGE waste of money. Your only paying for the Wii name on it. Just go to best buy and buy an sd card there for cheap. Or go to microcenter.com and they have cheap 2gb sd cards there.

Wii play has better games than wii sports. Pool, shooting galery, somthing about tanks, lazer hockey, and i forget the rest. if i remeber correctly lan adapter is like $30 i think. If you get wii play you get a free wii remote

Well I looked at some reviews around the web (GameFAQs mainly) and Wii Play got terrible reviews? Is it really that bad?

No i thought it was quite fun. espicially the shooting galery. it plays mostly like duck hunt on the NES. If it was me, I wouldnt trust the internet that much hero_of_legends

You should also get some Virtual Console points and buy some stuff on VC

It's basically a mini-game fest, I don't have it because I'm not interested in games that only consist of 5 second mini games. But appearantly it's not worth it, though you can also see it as you get a game for 10 buck together with a Wii Remote.

P.S. If you find yourself old enough deffinetly get RE4, I got it for the GC and I'm still going to get it for the Wii.

Twilight Princess, Call of Duty 3, VC Controller, VC Game Points.

Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario. You should get those games. Get you a Wii points card so you can by games in the Shop Channel.
