Sonic vs Mario

What games do u like better? Sonic games or Mario games Personally I love Sonic games and they will allways BE better cause they have more action and fun.

Ha, erm Mario for me. I do really enjoy Sonic to be fair but the plumbers adventures are that much better to me. It's all about Mario. Sonic has speed in it's favour and the early games were legendary (still are) but the Mario platformers alone have more variety as the series progressed.

Edit: I think I just voted the wrong one, how rubbish is that. I would have voted both.

The newer Sonic games are just rubbish. But for the sake of the older games I voted "both".

Wat u talkin about Sonic and the Secret Rings is a kikass game and so is the new PS3 version of Sonic

Anyway, if we're gonna be talking about the newer games, Mario definitely because of stuffs like the Paper Mario series. The new Sonic games are... eh, I don't like 'em. I find them tedious. As for the older games, I guess it depends on what games we're comparing. I mean, something like Mario RPG, I adore, but another game like Sonic 2, I love also. Um um um... Blah, I'mma go with both for the older games.

Back in the 90s, both series had amazing games, though Mario was probably slightly better.

Nowadays, they're both rubbish, but again, the Mario series is slightly less bad than the Sonic series.

So, Mario wins.

Sonic games have never really been that good. The old school ones are ok, I guess. And the new ones are, meh.

I thought you meant the Water-Beast, Chaos at first, but I guess you mean the Chao (it's Chao for both singular and plural )
I agree, they were simply awesome, especially in SA2B where the improved Chao Gardens and the expanded Chao types made Chao raising much easier and enjoyable.
Heh - I remember when a member and I even opened a Chao Doctor thread, where people would ask us tips and help on Chao raising and how to get specific chao and rare recipes. :XD

In the SNES/Mega Drive era, I preferred Sonic, as the games were alot more fluid, less restrictive and the gameplay always felt refreshed for some reason with the dynamics of new levels.
I consider Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Lock-on Cartridge) amoungst the greatest games out there.
However, Sonic seemed to lose its charm after the hop to 3D, at which Point Mario became a more enjoyable game.

Same here. The new games make die a little inside. They don't deserve to be called "sonic".

Definitely Mario

I just bought Super Paper Mario and then Mario Party 8 a few days ago lol so it's quite obvious where my preference lies. I simply detest all of the recent sonic games and agree with the general sentiments in the thread thus far about them ruining the series. But even the older games weren't that stellar especially when compared to the classic Mario games. I suppose I just prefer collecting coins and stars rather than gems and rings.

Mario. Because this franchise actually did succeed in continuing making good games, minus most of the spinoffs.

I love both, but I prefer Mario. There was never a Mario game that I disliked. Super Mario 64 is my most favorite game of all time.

Sonic is amazing. Sonic 2 is my favorite of the series, and Sonic Heroes is one of my all time favorite games.

I haven't really played any Sonic games, so I would have to say that Mario is better.

I'm the other way round - I've played a lot more of Sonic than Mario. And while I agree wholeheartedly that the newer Sonic games tend to be pretty bad (it's possible to get lost on the first level of a game that's meant to be about speed? Which dimwit thought that up?), I haven't had access to the newer Marios, so I can't really compare those.

Basically, it boils down to the fact that I grew up with a Sega Master System, not a NES. I have very fond memories of the old-school Sonics, and pretty much zip for Mario.

Mario for me , though i do like the classic sonic games , the new ones are just pure rubbish
