Super Paper Mario

I was wondering who here liked Super Paper Mario.

I liked alright, IGN gave it an overall rating of 8.9 out of 10. It did have some things in it I didn't like, it wasn't really an RPG like all the other Paper Mario's were, well, it had an RPG feel, but the battles were not turn-based, and the bosses were too easy. The people looked... blocky like... can't really explain it, you would just have to have the game to know. But the game was good, you could could go from 2D to 3D which was very original and unique. It's replay value is good because its got 256 (somewhere around there.) cards you can find hidden in the game. the cards have pictures of enemies, people from the game, bosses, and Pixls. Getting through the levels was the best part of the game to me, it was challenging in some chapters.

Do you like Super Paper Mario, I liked it alright, tell me what you think about it.

Re: Super Paper Mario

I didn't like it very much. It has absolutely no replay value, and quite a bit of levels feel more like punishments than anything else. Definitely one of the worst Mario games I've ever played.

Re: Super Paper Mario

Super Paper Mario was awesome. I havn't played the other paper mario games, because I'm not really an prg fan. So when I heard there was going to be regular mario stompin' I thought I'd give it a try. The story was a bit predictable to say the least, even though I got surprised at the end, where they had some interesting twitches.

Although I didn't really feel like playing any other character than Mario (maybe bowser for some fighting) the game was, as I said, awesome. 2D to 3D was brilliant and the game in general was both fun and sometimes a bit dramatic.

But the pain of finding all the heart pillars... One time I was a few steps away from finding one when I though "hey, I know where it is! It has to be over there!" and I just wasted 20 minutes because of that. To quote bumblebee man: Aye aye aye, no me gusta!

Re: Super Paper Mario

I LOVED it. I was addicted to it till I beat it. I am now trying to get all 12 pixls. I made it to level 70 or so of the pit of 100 trials before i died, but I was ill prepared. I thought it was a good game other than all the talking which I skipped.

LOL I know, that was a pain to find them all. I usually found them pretty quick but it did get annoying to have to go and find them.

Re: Super Paper Mario

It was pretty hyped up around ZU and with my friends. And it seemed like a good, story based, fun game for the Wii.

I was sorely mistaken. Just more garbage for my Wii. It was fun in the first world, I thought it'd pick up pace and get better, but no. Just boring level after the other. And boss fights? What a joke. I haven't died once. I haven't even gotten near death. It's so sad. I got to around the second world somewhere and just lost all interest in playing. Buhh.

And they said there was a lot of text. But damn. There's a lot of text.

The 3D flipping was a cool little concept. But it was terribly over used, and it really wasn't all that great. Once you got into 3D the world looked terrible. Nowhere near as passable as the 2D world was, which was decently passable.

Re: Super Paper Mario

My brother bought it about one week ago. He's already beaten it but I've only played about an hour and just beat the first chapter.

I think it's the worst Paper Mario game but still not a bad game. Just like how some people say certain Zeldas are bad. It may be bad for the series but not as a game overall.

Anyways I don't like how they changed it to the kind of "free" fighting rather than the "take-turns" fighting. Normally I hate the "take-turns" kind like in Pokemon but in PM it was fun. Plus the party members and bosses SUCK and the plot isn't near as good as 1 and 2.

As I said before, it's a good game and lots of fun to play but nowhere near the first two Paper Marios.

Re: Super Paper Mario

I thought that there maybe a Paper Mario series and a Super Paper Mario series. Super Paper Mario is just too different from any other Paper Mario game to be a part of the Paper Mario series. I don't know, it's just a theory.

Not at all, it's more like... I don't really what it's like, I don't know if I should suggest you to get it to see what it's like, you may waste some money if you don't like it.

Re: Super Paper Mario

It was a good game in my opinion. But on the other hand I dont give games alot of hype like other people. So my expectations were low. All in all I would give it a 4/5. My only complaints are that it was tedious when you go to flopside for the pure hearts and the huge amount of dialogue. I liked it.

There was. You just need to pay 300 coins.

I loved this game. Least favorite of the three Paper Marios, but still good. The gameplay was okay yet sometimes boring, and the best part was the awesome plot.
