Now with Marth, go to Classic mode and complete it without using any continues and you'll be challenged by Roy - defeat him to unlock. That's what I remember anyway.

I haven't played single-player in a while but I think you beat classic mode using Marth and then Roy should challenge you. I could be completely off.
