Kojima kills the "MGS4 on 360" rumor.

First the quote to put it into context:

"The PS3 is like the theatre, it's a little bit high-priced but it has to be high quality as well. The 360 is a DVD, it still needs to be high quality but you need more variations, while the Wii is almost like a TV channel, because every game you have it with your family".

And then the rumor-killing quote:

"But like I said, MGS4 is aimed for the movie theatre, it's aimed for the PS3, so the game's scenario and graphics need this theatre-type hardware. It's when a producer has a game that can work on the 'DVD level' that a game will go multiplatform", he says. Sorry kids. Your "OMGMGS4360" banners will have to come out another day.

Interesting how he mocks the other consoles. But I suppose they're truth.

MGS4 Deserves better than Xbox360, thats why its on Ps3. A bit pricey but it will be worth it.

Well to be honest, I hate XBox. MGS would be good on Wii but like he said, the wii is like tv. If I had the money I would buy a wii and a ps3. but braching out into that convosation would a bit off topic.

That's a bummer for me only because I can't afford either console in the slightest right now, but at least a handful of my friends own 360s. The PS3 needs to drop dramatically in price and stop being broken right out of the box, and then I'll be happy to check it out.

(Of course, chances are they'll be almost ready with the PS4 or something by the time that happens, knowing my luck...)

Well it's a good stride for Sony at this point, losing another exclusive would make me tense, and a lot of people seem to be forgetting Tekken 6 as an exclusive. But yeah it's OK for me, because I have the PS3.

I don't see why anybody would buy a PS3, for now at least. Almost all of the games on there are on 360 too. Lair, MGS4, and some others are exclusive. But, I wouldn't waste $600 bucks on them.

I think this is funny, because he announced this around the same time we ran an AFD story claiming quite the opposite.

Especially since I'm pretty sure that interview was from sometime last fall....or even last summer. It's been awhile. That quote is ancient, so I have no idea what Kotaku is up to.

Damn it, now I don't know what to get the 360 or the PS3 and I really want MGS4.

Well it's good to know that Sony can secure some exclusives.

Well, here's hoping.

So far the only PS3 exclusives I know of that I want to play are MGS4 and Final Fantasy XIII, and I can probably live without FF XIII.

You know, if someone just films themself playing through MGS4, I could probably be satisfied with just watching that. :P
