Worth buying an XBOX 360? -Poll inside-

Hi everyone.

I own a Wii and I'm in a bit of a distress about how it's going to turn out a few years down the road. I'm sure we'll see another Zelda title in a few years and SMG, SPM, SSBB and MP3 all look very good. But is it worth it to keep my Wii.

I've recently thought about the difference between an XBOX360 and the Wii. The XBOX didn't look too good at launch but Gears of War looks awesome. Now there's a new bundle going on for Australia where you get the Xbox with GoW for about $550. The online play is supposed to be really good for the console and the game too.

What are my options?

I could sell my Wii/TP, but forking out an extra $100 for the Xbox/GoW isn't a problem. BUT then I'll be missing out on the SSBB action.

Or I could just get a job, work for a few months, then wait until November/December to get my birthday/christmas money.

But will there be any other good upcoming titles for the XBOX? And will there be any good upcoming titles for the Wii? A possible Tales game maybe, other than that just ports, Mario games and Metroid Prime 3 which may not even be better MP2.

However, if I sold my Wii now along with TP, I'd be able to buy the XBOX quicker, and then possibly buy another Wii later on for titles like SSBB.

Could some please, please, please help me out here?

thre is a new manhunt game coming out, the new harry potter looks good if youre into that sort of thing, mario galaxy, ssbb, that cooking game is coming is coming out on the wii, exite truck is good, there is a game called no more heroes that has ace graphics that is going to be a wii exclusive, it looks to be a gta clone, if youre even thinking about selling youre wii for a 360 then youre crazy, ive played gow online and its not even that good

Most people on this forum are Nintendo fans, so they are going to tell you keep the Wii.

Buy an Xbox 360 and get Oblivion.

Just save your money for awhile, and wait until the Elite version comes out.

I don't see much difference between the first XBox or the 360, all I see noticable is the updates graphics, I really don't see any point if you have a Wii, waste of money if you ask me

Well, If you'd order a XBOX, you'll have more choice in FPS..
Nintendo is more based on RPG/Adventure..
It's a difficult choice you have to make.

Yeah but I get way more fun from RPG games, FPS to me are too linear and you are forced to go to certain places, I prefer games where I make my own decisions

Personally, I would keep the wii. More (and better) titles will come. However, if you are in need of online gaming and broader choise of titles, then 360 suits you better.
But as you said, the 360 looked weak at launch, and so does the wii right now. In the end of the year though, you'll have plenty to go around.

Since when there are more RPGs for Wii? If anything the Xbox 360 has more RPGs that are in development and many of them are coming out this year. The Wii doesn´t even have an RPG at the moment...

Indeed. 360 has more RPG and FPS, not to mention sports, than Nintendo Wii. 360 has Gears of War, the new GTA 4, Mass Effect (a massive RPG), Rainbow Six: Vegas, and many more other great games.

Like CC said, if you really want to get a 360, wait for the Elite version to come out.

You'll regret selling your Wii. On the other hand, the 360 has a much, much better selection of more.. traditional games than the Wii does, at least at this point.

I'd keep the Wii, but save up for and buy a 360.

And I wouldn't bother with the Elite version. There isn't much there of worth, unless you actually have a nice, big, HD TV. A bigger harddrive? Pfft. Not worth that extra money. Better HD support is only worth the trouble if you have the TV to take advantage of, which the vast majority of us do not.

Exactaly, do that because not only is Oblivion good but like you said GoW is also a good game(not only good looking) and Halo 3 is also to come out soon for the 360.

On the Resident Evil website, it has been confirmed that Resident Evil 5 will be coming out for the 360 as well as the PS3. Also, that Assassins Creed game is meant to be amazing, it's not out yet though. In other words ... get an Xbox 360.

That's the thing about Nintendo, they make these special new systems but don't use them correctly. Since the launch of it (Wii), only a couple of new games came out. I would mostly buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld to play Zelda or Mario only whilst on 360/PS3, you can get tons of games.

Look at the amount of games that are out for the PS2 and the ones out for the Gamcube! There are still games coming out for the PS2 for those who can't afford the PS3 whilst the Gamecube has been ignored completely.

Just get both. Simple as that.

Wii has some awesome games coming out this year and so does Xbox 360.

Yeah I'd wait, I'm tempted to sell my Wii because it's only collecting dust. But I think I would be disappointed when a pwnage game comes out. So I'd hang on to it.

Get a job and pickup a Xbox 360 Elite later in the year. Also if you have a pretty regular TV you won't be getting the best out of your 360.

God, paying $400 was such a waste of money - for a system that has the specs of a Gamecube? Wow. They really got me there...

I would sell it on ebay, but then I have to do that thing where they call you in less than 2 minutes and I'm not sure what I have to do from there. Give them my mum's bank account pin? So they can take 4 or so dollars from it? It's pretty ridiculous to me.

Can someone explain to me how this eBay really works. I don't want to sell my Wii for any less than about AU $430.00.

Really? I got that exactly bundle for $639, do you mean with the Pro Pack, or Core?
