Saw the PS3 today.

Hi, I saw the PS3 in action today. The graphics were some-what plastic looking. I know they are supposed to be the best and all, but this motorbike racing game made the visuals look like plastic. The graphics were good and better than anything the Wii could dream of to produce. But to me, the PS3 graphics just don't do it for me. They don't seem to make such a graphical improvement at all. Look at the improvement from the N64 to the Gamecube - now that's a next-generation improvement. But the different in PS2 to the PS3 isn't really the next generation...

I'm very happy with the graphics I'll be getting from Wii games (which I will be buying).

The PS3 sux. No questions asked. Its useless. We don't want a PC most of us already have one of those and if we wanted one we would buy one that had less bugs and uncompatability issues than Vista not more. On top of that the games are a universal dissappointment, after all the hype I was hoping for some sort of significant improvement but they barely come to par with most 360 games.

Have you played on a PS3? Because when I went to my mates house, I wanted to watch him play for a while and I didn't like it much, but when I held the controller in my hand, the feel was TOTALLY different. Why don't you go to a gaming market and try it out. Your views will change, I'm sure.

I disagree with that too. I think this is one of the best racing games made for the PS3. When you turn the motion sensitive on, I would think that playing with the SIXAXIS remote is better than an official steering wheel.

Out of what? Two?

Anyway, I disagree about the graphical jump. PS3 graphics are clearly better than PS2 graphics.

SOCOM. PS2.

Resistance: Fall of Man. PS3.

I'm not PS3 fanboy, but what you said really isn't true.

The fact that PS3 sucks and that Motorstorm graphics are like plastic.

I can see a huge difference in graphics in those two pictures. Thanks Hoopy Frood.

What about the graphics improvement from Gamecube to Wii, the graphics haven't improved much so thats not a total Next-gen improvement is it?

Re: Saw the PS3 today.

You can't deny that the PS3 has a great graphics system, and Hoopy summed it up in his post. Not that I am going to buy the PS3, but I will give Sony credit for making a damn powerful machine.

No, you were saying that Motostorm is the best racing game on the PS3. So I said "What? Out of 2?" because there are only 2(I think?) racing games on the PS3 right now.

Re: Saw the PS3 today.

yeah, ps3 fails. paying 600bucks for a system that is only slight par above ps2 is a waste. not to mention you need a nice tv, HD to get decent video quality. besides, what makes it unique? the 360 has xbox live, wii has the wiimote and chuck, so what makes the ps3 so nice? its got nothing! just over priced, buggy, and untested technology.

Sony's vision of next-gen is more power and better graphics.
Nintendo sees innovation as new, innovative ideas.

Home? A full online service compared to Nintendo? Limited Motion Control AND next gen graphics, physics, AI? Each system has something to define itself, and it is quite obvious that each company is trying to obtain its niche.

Here's my position on the PS3. Flat out. I want MGS4 and the Final Fantasy/Square-Enix games coming to the PS3. The only way to guarantee that I get those titles at this point is to buy a PS3, as it is very much indefinite that this point and time, no matter what anybody says, that those titles and future titles in such series will all make it to the 360, which if the world was perfect, I would much rather have. People complain that the PS3 isn't going to get any support because it isn't selling units (and for part of that, see below). Well, I guess I've dedicated myself to the PS3 now by wanting the above games, and the problem of support isn't going to get much better if I don't buy a PS3 relatively soon. So I plan on getting a PS3 sometime late in the year, hopefully with the 65nm processor and...some kind of price drop. And if I don't end up playing a lot of games on it, well then I've got a Blu-Ray player, I guess.

Article Number II: The PS3 is not failing. It is not of life support. We are close to six months into the system's life. From day one, it has had a better adoption rate and less shortages than the 360 did at this point in it's launch. Unlike the launch competition, the Wii, the system has JUST finally been released in Europe, at an all time sales record, I might add. So between the higher price and the earlier launch of the Wii, of course the Wii is doing better. And with the lower price, I'm sure it will maintain the highest console sales. Obviously that doesn't change the fact that in real life, the 360 has a better selection because of being out a year longer, but one does need to take that into account when wondering why there aren't that many PS3 games.

Hopefully the Wii will be my perfect compliment to my PS3 in my Home Theater, and between the two of them, I'll be able to get a steady stream of games.

Ok I'm no fanboy of any of the consoles, I'm more of a PC fanboy.
But really what you've said is a load of crap.

Sure the PS3 at the moment has plenty of cheap titles with terrible graphics. Take the Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire for example, terrible.

What you should of seen is Resistance: Fall of Man playing. Something that has polish. Of course I don't think of of the current PS3 titles have fully used the power of the PS3. Look how long the 360 was out until it got Gears of War. GOW is polished and very nicely optimized with the system producing beautiful graphics.

Give the PS3 sometime to kick out some of its killer titles.
I also wonder if you were looking at a 1080p HDTV hooked up with HDMI when you judged it.

All in all, the PC has the best graphics and always will.

Crysis FTW.

You know as well as I do that's not going to happen. Sony is trying to save money by making it cheaper to make. Long time before a price decrease.

Yeah, even if Sony manages to decrease the cost of the PS3, that doesn´t mean we will see a pricecut.

Decrease of costs =/= pricedrop

I was recently able to play the PS3 at Gamestop, and let me tell you...

I wasn't impressed.

I was playing that same racing game too.

In all fairness I can see the tables turning and within the next few years it will be the Sony fanboys in the minority, where they should be, and everyone else enjoying some proper quality games.

Also FF13 is supposedly going to be multi platform.

So tell me when did this turn into a let's tout how Sony's losing it's exclusives thread? And when it comes to quality games, I personally think Nintendo does the worst, I'm tired of them releasing mini-game games, it's repetetive, we haven't had one solid single player experience. Rather them re-using the same concept over and over.

As for the graphics argument, the PS3's graphics are better than the PS2's by far, with 1080p and HDMI support, games will definitely be better than the PS2's. And even without they're better.

Sony representatives have been quoted saying that even the best looking games released for the PS3, as of now, use only 20% of its graphical rendering capabilities.

If this statement is true, I am more than sure that motorstorm doesn't even reach that 20%. If you want to play a game that does, check out GT: HD.

Overall, there is no doubting that the PS3 is a ****ing powerful machine.
