All right, I'll make a few notes here before you guys begin picking every apart.

1. I know the magazine in the second link is an April issue of a magazine.
2. The magazine in the third link is the April issue of a magazine also. However, it's hinting at next month(Read: May)'s article.
3. Spong's article is from a week or so ago, with no magazine cited.

So. I've got my finger's crossed. If this happens I will be one of the happiest men alive!

The cover of gamereactor has been changed at the moment. Apparantly, Sega didn't like the one seen in Froody's link.

Plus, the magazine in question has gone on record saying that it's NOT a prank.

Which makes sense. NiGHTS, as good as it is, isn't really well-known these days, and it wouldn't be anyone top choice to make an April Fools day joke about.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you on that one. Among gamers, NiGHTs is extremely well known. It'd make the perfect April Fool's joke.

Yes. Amongst these "real gamers." But the vast majority of gamers these days don't really fall into that catagory.

I've never played NiGHTS; I only know it by reputation, and only barely. And I'm not exactly a casual gamer.

I believe this is an overhyped prank.
I honestly hope it's not, as I adored NiGHTS (even though admittedly, Reala was by far a more interesting character).

However, my grounds fordeclaring this a hoax are one thing; The fact that the UK's Official Nintendo Magazine are staunch supporters of this claim.

In their very first issue of the new run (after the original NOM team left) they said that they'd have world-exclusive info on the up-coming Twilight Princess.
Of course, this was a huge lie, and no such information was in the mag.
In their next issue, they made an official apology to all those fans they mislead.
The magazine is a very poorly written thing, with very immature, hyperbolic articles - it's really quite rubbish.
In fact, their letters sections seem to be defending themsevles against letters of criticism from readers.

If anyone would like it, I'd be happy to dig up my issue and show you all the official apology for lying in their first mag.

In short, if it turns out NiGHTS is being given a new lease of life, that's suprememly awesome, though I'm very suspicious.
NiGHTS, unlike Sonic, is actually a very, very treasured franchise for Sonic Team - I odoubt they'd let a game get soiled.

Try Nintendo Power on for size over in the US. It is literally Nintendo's monthly brochure on their latest products. (Reggie is listed in the staff. Need I say more? Ok. I will. The magazine is written by the same people that write those awesome ad-blogs on Nintendo.com, such as Sonic's Speed and Game Play Adds Up to Excitement on Wii) I keep telling myself that I need to stop renewing my subscription, as EGM has really become pretty great in the last few years, but then I always end up renewing anyways.

The NiGHTS on the Saturn is probably my number one "title I haven't but really wanna play" game ever. I sincerely hope this news is sound. From the looks of the original, the Wiimote could really suit a game like this. Here's hoping!

I never had a Sega Saturn, nor did I ever know anyone with one, so naturally, I never played NiGHTS into Dreams. . . However, I've heard nothing but great things about NiGHTS. I've been wanting to play it for a long time, so I'll be really excited if the sequel hits Wii!

What is NiGHts?

NiGHTS is one of two First-Order Nightmaren [a kind of super soldier] created by Wizeman [the game's Big Bad] to steal Red Ideya, which are the essences of people, coming in five different colours, with Red (symbolising courage) being the rarest and most elusive, hence why NiGHTS has a red diamond emblem on his chest.
Though Sega has recently referred to NiGHTS as "he" NiGHTS itself actually has no gender, and is depicted as deliberatly androgynous.
In the game, NiGHTS rebels against Wizeman and his agenda to steal Ideya from sleeping humans, and is shattered and sealed away in shrines called the Ideya Palaces until humans meet and merge with it.

Well now it's confirmed. Nights for the Wii is for real.

Well, I'm smitten with delight. I'm going to be following this one very closely...

Yes, that is an incredibly good point actually. They're not developers I wholly trust anymore.

Edit: There aren't that many details but the fact that we've seen some screens and had some professional confirmation makes me happy.
