Best Multi Player Shooter

I'm going to bet that Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are going to get a lot of votes. But eh. Whatever.

For me its Halo 2 and Gears Of War. My two favorite multi player games ever.

Even if I am awful at both ;_;

In terms of multiplayer, I've really enjoyed Call of Duty 2 for the 360.

Yeah, I'm with those Goldeneye fan boys. I had such great times with my brother. I also liked Timesplitters 2 though, that was good fun. Perfect dark just was too similar in the multiplayer to Goldeneye in many ways, so I don't have as many find memories of multiplayer, but much more fond memories of single player.

And you would have bet right! Im going for Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. Multi player heaven imo. The amount of hours lost playing these two with mates are stupid.

Goldeneye had it all. The maps were fun, although, small by todays standards. The weapons had some real character, dual weilding DD44's was un-beatable, and to top it all off, playing as Oddjob

None of you have ever heard of Counter-Strike?

Good ol' 1.6. Thousands of players, thousands of servers up daily.

Counterstike is certainly the best PC shooter. My only beef with it was how insanely good some people got, which made it a little difficult for casual players to have a really good time. Only a minor complaint though.

For console, either Halo or Goldeneye. Goldeneye is a classic and I still boot it up on occasion for some good times. I have started to notice some issues with it (mostly in how amazing the body armor is), but Liscense to Kill with Pistols is still my favorite shooting game ever. Halo was just AMAZING. Especially having two big screens hooked up (one downstairs and one upstairs) and getting 8 people in the same house to beat on each other. It's really a tough call...

Goldeneye was just outstanding. Couldnt beat it with a big stick!

I'm going with the original Perfect Dark, The weapons were fun,, and you could customize everything to make a perfect game. The stimulants were smart compared to some of the newer games I play and you could also tell the sims to do certain things like follow you or guard a certain area.

I have not played a game that compares to how much customizing you could do with Perfect Dark. But I would Like to note that I don’t play first person shooters very often and never played Halo online.

I'll never really understand how people think Goldeneye is the best. But if you do thats fine, just newer FPS games are a lot better -_-

I'm not saying Goldeneye is bad. I do enjoy playing it from time to time.

Some of the best multiplayer overall in my opinion

I vote for Perfect Dark (64). You can play the main, the main but one is the bad guys and the other is Joanna, combat sim, where you can select your enmies or you can play versus, changing the weapons, music, objetive...there are also multiplayer challenges, there are very fun cheats, and a bunch of stages. Perfect Dark is the funniest shooting game also.

I don't care what anyone says, goldeneye is the best.

Just the shear time spent playing with freinds and family, you can't beat a game like that.

Gears of War definitely, and I've also had a lot of fun with the Geist multiplayer, which is what I'm playing right now.

For PC Counterstrike is the best.

For console Gears Of War is the best.

Overall though Counterstrike is the best multiplayer shooter ever. I could never vote for Goldeneye cause 1) it has no online which means you can only play with people sittting next to you which in all honestly takes away from the gameplay and 2) it is sucdh a glitchy game.

Lets be honest though in terms of multiplayer shooters if it isn't online it just isn't worth playing. It's alot more fun playing with people all over the world as apposed to those who live close to you and come over to play. I mean seriously just last night I was playing Lost Planet with some guys from Japan. You can never do that on a non-online shooter.

Goldeneye was ok, it just doesn't compete with PC games from the same time and certainly not modern ones.

All for PC, I only recently got any console online games, but online multiplayer is far superior to having to have people there to play with you.
