Wii Remote Innovations
We've all had ideas about how we would like the Wii remote to be used. Such as fishing in TP, shooting in Red Steel etc. but what other ideas do you have? This thread is designed to broadcast your opinion on what should be done with a Wiimote.
Martial Arts of some kind would be good, but you might need a longer Nunchuk wire to do it. Just think, a bad guy appears from nowhere and you shoot forward your hand and hit him hard on the shoulder. It might even be able to detect kicks somehow. So get your thinking caps on and think of new innovations! |

Re: Wii Remote Innovations
Of course it could (I've had the same idea). All Nintendo would have to do is create special Wii-pouches/straps that would go around your calves. The Wii can support 4 controllers, correct? Well have a Wii on each hand and foot. Of course, for any martial arts game that requires four controllers for just one person to play should be an epic game (since it would be expensive to just play it) that's taken place online.
People are generally stupid at times...so I can see a lot of people hurting themselves doing these acts like jumping, punching, and kicking in the air. As for the longer Nunchuck cord idea, people will start using it like a real Nunchuck and hurt themselves, others around them, and valuables around the household. Sorry, but I don't think it's a smart idea. Since all the controllers are wireless now, I think the next logical step for the Nunchuck is for it to be wireless aswell (so it could sorta act like a second wiimote). Then there's the debate of what to call that (I'd call it Joystick, not the Nunchuck anymore...well maybe). Other ideas I've thought of? How about a flight simulator like Star Fox? Oh I can imagine a Star Fox game now. The control mechanics would be soo easy. How to pilot the Arwing II? Hold the nunchuck adapter as if it were the joystick of the Arwing. Tilt it back (towards your body) to make the Arwing go up, and Tilt it worward to make it go down (left and right still work respectably). The Z & C buttons could be used for brake and boost. On the Wiimote, you'll use the sensors for aiming (just like any other standard first person shooter on the Wii) and the B button to shoot. To make a make a barrel role, hold down the A button and turn the wiimote on either side (like you're turning a door knob), to make a 180 degree turn in the sky is to pull both Wiimote and nunchuck up (towards your body), and to do a loop do the same thing as the 180 but press the C button (boost) while doing it. How do you like my ideas? -BGS

Any other ideas? I was thinking we could have some Partners in Time type game where every single move you do would be like something out of Warioware! For example: Throwing fireballs would be like pitching in Wii Baseball. You could press a, b, 1 and 2 to change between the character you want to use. The copy flower would be raising the remote while pressing the button corresponding to the current character in the game. |

Re: Wii Remote Innovations
I had a dream one night that Nintendo invented a proper virtual reality.
1st step. Creating a whole sweat-resistant body-suit of motion-sensors 2nd step. Creating the helmet which can fade in and out to be a transparent visor or the visual monitor, with speakers and microphones built in. 3rd step. creating a harness system that locks the player in to place, with a moving floor that makes it feel as if the player is actually walking normally when their vision is covered (by a game or read on). 4th step. setting up LAN areas and an internet connection for the Virtual Reality to be played in (that means only profit because people would be paying for hours of time in the Virtual Reality networks rather than any proper goods or materials. That means no profit loss what-so-ever. Nobody can steal what they're selling or buy the items for less than they cost to make. And selling it to the uber rich people of course. And the president. 5th Step. Setting up cafe's and restaurants around the Motion sensor cafes, and PR, drawing in customers. Sales up! 6th Step. Other stuff Virtual reality could be used for so much. It's basically a transport system. Communication could be replaced for it if people opted to have massive vr harness systems installed in their house somewhere. John Howard could just step in to his vr suit and have a conference of nose-in-arse with Bush anytime he wanted, and it could be used for home-schooling people in the outback and unreachable places- and educating Africans to help save themselves. These are all just basic ideas off the top of my head. I imagine very rich people could set up some kind of camera, disturbance reading device in their house that allows them to step in to and look at everything in their holiday home at any time they wanted. The possibilities are endless! Not to mention the awesome games! |

Wii Sports has been getting popular (considering they were free), and I've heard that Nintendo will be coming out with Wii Play (don't quote me, but I believe it will have some Wi-fi multiplayer action). Those ideas would just make good mini-games than anything else. When I first got to learn about the Wii, I think everyone thought the same thing: This will make First Person Shooter (Metroid), Sword Play adventure (Zelda and Star Wars), Racing (Need for Speed and Mario Kart), Flight (Star Fox), and a few sports revolutionary. Everything else, just may look a bit awkward. Now I just mentioned Mario Kart as a racing game, but we all know that it isn't your typical racing game. Now how would a Mario Kart game work? Simple. Hold the Remote vertically as if you're turning a doorknob. A button will be Gass, B button for reverse, turning the wiimote like a doorknob would be steering, D-pad for hopping (you know, the shoulder pad button that's used for the boost). What will the Nunchuck be used for? Pressing stop (C button) when you go over an items box, placing an item at the tail of your cart, and throwing items. I think it's quite self explanatory how you'll do those actions. As for how to do a power boost, quite simple: A button, turn Wiimote, Press D-pad, shake Wiimote back and forth, then let go of D-pad. -BGS
