I would wait. I'm already getting TP for gamecube. I want a green wii instead of a white one. Though I doubt that their really going to drop the price for a long time.

Yeah, Spring 07 sounds too early for a price drop to me. By that time they will barely have sold them to people who have wanted one since they sold out on the release day. Spring 08 sounds more like it.

What's wrong with Nintendo. They could at least keap it at 250$ for another 2-3 years.
Or until the Xbox 360 drops.

They're probably just not going to include Wii Sports.

Actually, a price drop wouldn't be completely out of the question. Nintendo originally wanted to sell the Wii for US$199.99, but decided to up the price by $50 because retailers protested and said they wouldn't get enough of a cut on each Wii sold. I'll bet manufacturing costs of the Wii are already down, and so it wouldn't be unreasonable for retailers to consider accepting a price drop, especially if stock were in ample supply, and selling like hotcakes to boot.

I think they'd include the wii play disk even if they did cut the price. The disk costs very little to make and is just as much an introduction to using the wii-mote than it is a game.

Sounds pretty good, I doubt there will be any hardware upgrade though. I just can't wait to get different color Wii-Motes, Black one looks pretty fancy.

Sounds good to me. It isn't much of a price drop but it's better than nothing. I don't have one yet so I'll hopefully be able to get a black one when (or if) this price drop happens.

If a Wii costs $150 to make... selling it for $200 wouldn't work... Nintendo and the retailer will make barely any profit per console... and the apst two generations that is where most of Ninteno's profit's have came from... not the cames them self.

They let developers bare the costs for developing for them.

What's wrong with the price tag or the normal white color? When your playing a game your not going to wondering about the color of your wii. Lowering the price more would be ludicrus. Think about it, Wii games are 50 dollars U.S. Every other system sells games for 60. Right there it's alreayd cheaper, nothing to complain about.

I personally don't think a price drop is at all necessary. I mean, it's already pretty cheap ifyou think about it.

And colours don't really matter at all, except for when you're not playing it, but all in all, the colour of a console shouldn't be a deciding factor on if you're going to buy it or not.

Well lets be honest the Halo3 Public beta is the most underhand blow in the history of Video Games, even worse than Sony going off and using what they learned from Nintendo to make their own console. It is pure BS to that that both Playstation and Nintendo don't have plans in place to combat this. A Wii relaunch with new colours a lower price tag and more online options would effectively draw the casual gamer away from the obcession that is Halo.
