The Phantasy Star Games
Come here to talk about the Phantasy Star games, Online and Universe, as well as the four part main saga (whicn only old school gamers and peoples who caught the remakes have, it's ancient but iare extremely groundbraking RPGs in their own right).
Well, I loved Phantasy Star Online, and nothing made me happier was to go about murdering the wildlife with my FOnewearl collection. Im sorry i never got to go online, and that the servers are being shut down next year........ As for the Phantasy Star Collection, I had extreme diffeculty with them (and with good reason). Alis is one of the only female main characters in an RPG, so good for her, especially as she was in a time when everyone was shocked, finding otu Samus was actually female. I found Phantasy Star 2 mainly, it really is probably my favorite game i never was able to finish.......(mainly because the enemies can murder my characters with ease and the dungeons are giagantic)/ And I love the battle theme for Phantasy Star 2, Rise or Fall, and PS2 has an amazing story, and it is certainly better then a lot of stuff that has come out in the past 17 years. While i do like the online games, I really would love a new PS offline experience with a teaked batlle system. I would say PS my favorite sci-fi games, it has the right mix of magic and sci fi, it dosn't spend more then 3 quarters of the game on a medievel planet like Star Ocean games, and is more of a traditional RPG then Xenosaga. I would say out of the sci fi rpgs I have played, the Phantasy Star originals did the best at combining the sci fi concept with the traditonal mechanics of RPGs.

Re: The Phantasy Star Games
I love PS1-4. I had a bit of fun with the online ones, but I ultimately found them fairly forgettable compared to the originals. I'm not a huge fan of online games but I think I'll pick up PSU for the offline portion, even if it is on the short side.
I'd also love a completely offline title myself. The series has a lot of potential, but I'm a bit worried the developers have moved on from traditional RPGs, which I find sad. |

Re: The Phantasy Star Games
I loved PSO, but I was kind of bored to the lack of a real story to it (it had its moments, but it was too weak to be considered a real story) I really would love a traditonal offline Phantasy Star game. The Algol System saga has been wrapped up, so maybe a new story?
