Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

Oblivion.

it was fun, but i was able to beat it fairly easily. beat the entire main quest, mages guild, warriors guild, thieves guild, and assassins guilds before i hit lvl 30.

easy. i had the difficulty turned up kinda high too. it's really pretty to look at, and it's fun as heck until you beat it.

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

Not my favorite game but probably one of the best ever created. It is the biggest and probably the longest.
I personally loved it so much I completed the
Main Quest,Theives Guild,Dark Brotherhood,Fighters Guild,Mages Guild,The Arena,All Daedric Quests.

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

The entire world is so vast and huge; you're always doing something. Between all the side quests, guilds, main quest, mini-labyrinths, towns, Oblivion gates, etcetera; there's practically never a "dull" moment when you play Elder Scroll's IV: Oblivion. And with the new downloadable content (i.e. new areas, new quests, new weapons, etc.), you'll enjoy this game even after you you've completed everything else. The only minor thing that doesn't make Oblivion nearly flawless is the fact that there's somewhat a lack of a voice cast; so a lot of the NPC's (there must be hundereds, if not, one thousand NPCs in Oblivion) sound the same.

Simply put; it's one of the best games I've ever played.

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

It's a very good game, ive played it on pc when it was released, and had to tune everything to the lowest settings, and it still looked brilliant, tough it ran crap I think im gonna buy it for my xbox later on.
The character creation is near limitless, the visuals are stunning, the story line is pretty cool, the things you can do aside, like joining the guild and stuff, well, i did all the quests of the Dark Brotherhood, and that in itself is worthy of a game, so you have a full game inside of a full game, the game's huge, well worth the money.

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

One of the best RPGs ever made. It'd probably be somewhere in the top five, outdoing some of the Final Fantasy games, even.

What's cool about it is that it is so vast and so huge- You can spend hours not even questing. I spent somewhere around a hundred hours before I even started the main quest... In fact, I never even started the main quest. My disc broke.

Anyway, it also tries to break the stereotype of Western RPGs- That being, they have a huge world and many things to explore, but lack of good storyline. Oblivion has an epic plot. Heck, even the side-quests can be epic. Mainly the guild quests.

The game is a must-have.

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

This game was awesome.

Lots of things to do. Quests keep piling up on you. You can even become a vampire. The amount of Magic spells seem limitless. Magic weapons, magic shields (Escutcheon of Chorrol is my favourite, though), magic items.. seemingly limitless. The world seems limitless also. The guilds, oh my, the guilds were amazing, especially the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild.

The Dark Brother hood was the best though. Get in, assassinate your target, get back out.

I agree obviously you can tell that I beat everything except side quests and yes Dark Brotherhood is the best. You get an invincible horse for free called Shadowmere.

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

The game is very fun, very interesting. With many side-quests.
But you were only in Cyrodil....
(Maybe they should make one where you can go to all the places)

Its called Arena

Oblivion was good but they dumbed it down way to much and made it into a mainstream game. After Morrowind I was expecting brilliance but they ended up cutting down a lot of options and switching from Morrowinds alien landscape to generic medieval fantasy. Also they incorporated a very dramatic leveling system that made it pointless to level up.

Don't get me wrong its a good game and the graphics are brilliant but it leaves something to be desired.

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

lol, I found it hard to spell too. But really, you should Google it before posting a typo anywhere.

I liked Oblivion, it was a great game and a lot of fun. Reminded me of Zelda somewhat. Kept me busy for a pretty long time. But I was contantly running into errors, bugs, glitches, and slow downs. It's a real pain in the ass. So I stopped playing, thankfully after I finished the main storyline and all the guilds.

I've got Knights of the Nine, but waiting for my new computer before playing Oblivion again and the expansion.

Good game all round.

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

Its a good game, its nothing special in my opinion. the biggest plus for the game is of course that it is very pretty and easy to look at. Otherwise its just sort of a bland story line with some mediocre gameplay in my opinion. The overworld is massive but after a while it gets kinda boring considering everywhere you go its the same. you'll run through a field with some trees then you go in a dark cave. so good game, but I feel its way over rated. I would probably give it a 8/10.

I remember that.

I hated that.

When you level up, you face stronger enemies.

For example, if you go into a cave at level 1, you meet ghosts that fire Frost at you, they have no weapons.

But if you go to that same cave, at like.. level 10. you'd meet ghosts, yes., but different ghosts, ones with swords, harder to kill, freakier sounding >>

Re: Elder scrolls oblivean Thread.

As you may have known Oblivion is an RPG. If you enjoy them your going to LOVE this game. For me personally it wasn't the greatest but i still enjoyed it somewhat.

I think what stunned me most was how long it really is. You could litterally play for 100 hours and not even touch the main quest. The visuals are stunning even on low quality and the dialogue is very satisfying.

Frankly (as I said before) if you like RPG's your going to love this game..if you don't you will still have fun with this game.

P.S. To me it's no Zelda

Exactly, that and the rather unimaginative (ah I remember the Telavani mushroom towers from Morrowind) scenery are Oblivions biggest faults. The problem is that when I am at level 1 I expect to suck, I expect to be beaten by the weakest things in Cyrodill. But I can pretty much kill everything right off the bat and it stays the same when I reach level 50 I want to be a God but I have only gotten slightly better (as opposed to owning everything I can now take on 5-6 high level creatures at a time).

They also carried it over to the weaponry as well, Daedric is supposed to be rare, not something you find on every penny less bandit on the road. By the end of the game I wouldn't even bother picking up daedric which is something I would gag at usually. Also, in reverse, you couldn't get really good weapons in the begining since all glass was "fake" glass.

Like I said though those are my biggest complaints with the game.
