These are the confirmed weapons known to be in the game(all are subject to change):

Weapons
Brute Shot - Confirmed in H3 ViDoc
Carbine - Confirmed in Weekly Update, and seen being wielded by an Elite in "Et tu Brute?"
Energy Sword - Seen wielded in H3 ViDoc by Brutes and Elites, and actually dual wielded by an Elite
Gravity Hammer - Seen in "Starry Night" CGI Trailer for Halo 3 (Carried by a Brute)
Needler - Seen on ground in H3 ViDoc
Particle Beam Rifle - Confirmed by Frankie on Bungie.net article, seen in the "Et tu Brute?" wielded by an Elite when being attacked by a pack of Brutes
Plasma Cannon - Seen carried and fired by a Brute Chieftain in H3 ViDoc
Plasma Pistol - Seen on ground in H3 ViDoc
Plasma Rifle - Seen carried by Master Chief on Bungie.net
Plasma Grenade
Spiker - (officially called Type-25 Carbine) is a new, dual-wieldable Brute weapon.
Spike Grenade - A sticking grenade that shoots spikes.[9]

M6G Pistol - Seen in starry night commercial, and confirmed by Frankie in a weekly update.
Rocket Launcher - Confirmed in Et Tu Brute video

Sniper Rifle - In Snowbound (Also commented to be in Valhalla and High Ground.)
Spartan Laser - An anti-vehicle weapon.
Sub-Machine Gun (has been made 'pointier')

Bubble Shield - Seen in "Starry Night" CGI Trailer for Halo 3. Later Frankie hinted that it wasn't a grenade during a chat on the bungie.net IRC.
Power Drainer - Seen in leaked Halo 3 Zanzibar video
Trip Mine - Seen in operation in H3 ViDoc
Radar Scrambler - Seen in leaked footage from Internal Beta. Once activated makes radars nearby create decoy red "enemy" dots everywhere.

Fusion Core - As revealed in a Weekly Update, they will be redesigned and may include an as yet unnamed feature

I love Halo: CE, like the Halo 2 online a lot, and Halo 3 is going to the best game ever.

I don't even CARE about Zelda right now...

I'm actually not a Halo fanboy... I just really really like it.... and haven't played a FPS yet thats better.

(I just started playing Halo like... less than a year ago.

Man, I can't wait when Halo 3 comes out and totally goes below your expectations.

Heh. More earth missions, new guns, really good looking multi maps, ****ing awsome graphics, great music...

Its going to be great.

And if not then I'll go play Combat Evolved some more...

You say HALO 3 won't go under your expectations, but a LOT of Zelda fans were very dissapointed with Twilight Princess. This game has a very big, if not equal to TP's, hype. Hype's are what give games bad reviews. You expect so much from them, yet they don't give EVERTHING you're looking for, so you complain about it. Trust me, people that don't get into any hyping will like it better.

Don't overhype it. I did with TP, and I'm punishing myself.

Yes, this game does look amazing. If I had a 360, I'd get it. It will be incredibly awesome, like the last 2. I'm not very big on Xbox, so I'm not overhyping.

I know all the things that I'm getting hyped about are going to be in it is the thing... what I'm expecting is Halo 2 with more earth missions, more guns, better multi player... nothing ground breaking.

The only thing I'm a little iffy about is the new controll scheme...

Well Twilight... it's good to see you're pumped about Halo 3. To be honest, Halo 3 is the first Halo title I'm actually looking forward to seeing in my collection at launch.

Keep us informed on the news and information and such, I look forward to checking up on it.


There's nothing wrong with overhyping. Keep in mind, overhyping is different than having much too high expectations of the title. And that's opinionated so... I'd like to suggest that everyone shut their mouths about a- anyone overhyping for what ever reasons, and b- how disappointed they are about Twilight Princess.

Isn't there a new scheme because of Black and White no longer really existing, and being replaced with bumper buttons? I'd say that's nothing to worry about. It'll be fine.

Nope nope... theres a new controll scheme... You shoot with R and L (when dual weilding) and re load each gun separatly with the top buttons (what are they called again >.>) So x isn't reload anymore... and all of X's old uses (from Halo 1 and 2) are getting transfered to the top right shoulder button.

X doesn't have have a use yet

What I think the controlls will be... (I'm just going to call the shoulder buttons R1, R2, L1, L2... The 1s being on top.)

A - Junp
B - Melee
Y - Change Weapons
X - No use yet
R1 - General Actions and Reloading
R2 - Fire
L1 - Cycle Through Grenades, Re-load (when duel weilding)
L2 - Throw Grenade, Fire (when duel weilding)
Left Stick - Crouch
Right Stick - Zoom

None of those button names are right but meh... I don't have a 360. (yet. I will before Halo 3 comes out though)

SO basically they made the reloading more in-depth. That's brilliant... the ability to reload one gun, while shoot with the other perhaps? How is it physically possible? Who cares?

But no... I'd have to say that control scheme isn't too different. By the way, there are L-trigger and R-trigger, and L-bumper and R-bumper. Not L1, L2, R1, R2.

Well, I believe I'm now sufficiently pumped up for Halo 3. I can't beleive I've never seen the trailer.

It looks pretty sweet, I'll probably end up playing it once I move back to where I used to live, where there's a 360 to use, as well as pretty much any other gaming console one could think of.

I just saw the trailer a few mintues ago, I couldn't look away. Pretty sweet.

Hmm...I've heard rumor that you'll be able to play in either third person or first. Also I've heard that there will be a 'cover' system like Gears of War. Possibly that will be the use of the X button? Just a idea...

K thanks I agree the controlls aren't TOO different... but they'll take some getting used to.

Halo 3 Should be good but for me Halo 2 was to short the story was easy even on the hardest mode. The online was good but had to be tweaked many times over sadly.

Hopefully Longer story and only playing as the Chief this time not sure if you play as the elite again but who cares give more Cheif Levels, and hopefully the online will be better this time around from the off.
