I don't believe enough has been shown to tell just where the graphics are, and I get the feeling a lot of people are just reaching. We've got an announcement trailer, a handful of pre-pre-alpha multiplayer screenshots, and some sandbox footage in the Brute vidoc (Half of which was untextured!). Clearly it's time for the jury to reach a verdict on
that issue.
When you bring up Gears of War, you're talking about two different development teams. If every game by every developer followed the same time frame for graphics, that might be a sound comparison.
