Question About Wii's Classic Controller

For those of you who don't know, the classic controller cannot be used for gamecube games. Also, Nintendo has said that since the number of face buttons (4) on the classic controller is less than the number of face buttons (6) on the n64 controller, the controls will be assigned differently for each n64 game. My question: Whats the point of the second analog stick?! The only games played on the wii that need two analog sticks are GCN games. The second analog stick obviously does not correspond to C buttons of the n64 controller like the gamecube's controller did for n64 ports because of nintendo's statement above. Whats up with this?

Why not? The C stick did fine in the OoT and MM remakes! But honestly I can't answer your question because of my lack of info.

I have a question myself, I hear that you can connect the Wii-mote and the Classic Controller together, is that true?

Re: Question About Wii's Classic Controller

No, Hungry it isn't. Also, the Wiimote doesn't play gamecube games, I don't think. It wasn't a good source I heard it from though.

The second stick? How about the camera?

???

yes, actually it is. the classic controller plugs into the wiimote where the nunchuck and the future attatchements will. Not only can it connect to the wiimote it has to

Re: Question About Wii's Classic Controller

Its possible that one of the analog sticks can be used in place of the D-pad. I know that some people prefer a stick to buttons. We'll all know in 6 days, won't we?

Re: Question About Wii's Classic Controller

I read somewhere, think it was on IGN that the classic controller is not the only controller that is compatible with retro games. The GC controller can also be used for these games as well. If it is true, then i don't see much need to buy a classic controller.

Re: Question About Wii's Classic Controller

Reports are conflicting about what controllers work with what VC games.
The Wii's manual doesn't help, since it says that the classic controller is used for all VC games, and doesn't mention the GCN or Wii controllers. However, other sources have said that the Wii-mote can be used for NES games and that the GCN controller can be used for every game.

So, until the system launches in 4 and a half days we won't know.

Eh, not really. And MM was never remade.

I really wish that we didn't have JUST a C-Stick. The N64 games were MADE using the C buttons.

Maybe they'll release another classic controller later on.

I believe that he was referring to the Zelda Collector's disk for GC which contained MM. Not a remake, but close enough

That'd actually be a ported version of MM (since it's identical to the N64 version; except for the controls obviously). A remake would be ALttP/FS for the GBA or LA DX, or OOT MQ.

As for the Wii's classic controller. It doesn't really seem like a thing to worry about. I've already tried looking for a source confirmed what the second control stick does; but I haven't found anything. I suppose we'll find out when we have it.

Re: Question About Wii's Classic Controller

you know even if they move the controlls around... it doesn't mean that the c stick will not be the second control stick.

Re: Question About Wii's Classic Controller

This is just a guess, but from the look of the controller, you can play left and right handed, so that may be the case.

Re: Question About Wii's Classic Controller

Mmhm, the controller is ambidextrious. And I also hear that they're making Link right handed for the Wii version of Twilight Princess. But I'm not so sure if that's true.

Re: Question About Wii's Classic Controller

Probably because every console since the N64 had two? (Gamecube included.)
