Re: Were in the Homestretch!

I'm camping out for the Wii, and I can't wait. I've always wanted to camp out for something to do with gaming. I've got a friend who's going to camp out with me, and he might be able to pull off some family in-store corruption to make sure we both get one. My ass will be in a chair for twelve or more hours, and it's going to feel great! When I get home with my Wii a little after midnight, I'm going to dive into Wii Sports.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

I'm going to stay at Wal-Mart from 5:00-midnight to get a Wii. Not exactly camping, since Wal-Mart is open 24/7 and I can stay inside until the holy time comes. I'm getting home right after I get it, but my dad said he wouldn't let me plug it in, since it's going to be really late and he want's me to get a few hours of sleep.

Camping out? Oh please. I'm guaranteed a Wii, even though I haven't Pre-ordered. I'm not exactly in Nintendo City if you know what I mean.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

I have it preordered, so I can just mosey on in at midnight on Saturday and grab my copy. Actually, I'm in a dorm at the moment, about 2 and a half hours away from home. My girlfriends going to be driving up this weekend so she can go to the midnight release together and experience our first Wii gaming together. I'm actually leaving on Sunday morning to go home for a week for Thanksgiving break, which is great timing for me.

I'm going to be getting Zelda Saturday night too, of course... but I'm not going to play it until Sunday. Playing a new Zelda game for the first time is almost a spiritual experience for me, and I refuse to do it in a noisy, crowded dorm surrounded by a bunch of gawking friends. I'll just play Wii sports that night, and play Zelda the next day.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

Next Saturday...
Chances are, I'll be hanging out with my mother, doing homework, or sitting in front of the computer. It's not a matter of wishing I had the money, I have $800 on hand at the moment, it's that I'm not interested enough (zomg i r heresy). I will be getting the GC version of Twilight Princess whe it's released, though, if that counts for anything.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

I'm going to be sitting in my little gaming room under the stairs, playing A Link to the Past...wishing that I had money to get a Wii and Twilight Princess. Mmhm. it'll be loads of fun, I'm sure.

But well, in January, I will most definitely be playing Twilight Princess. I even intend to ask my mom if I can get work off (she's my boss) because I need to take vacation, and if she asks where, my answer is going to "Hyrule, where else would I go?" and by that, I mean, she won't see me until I beat the game...unless I get hungry.

Me too. For some reason, my WalMart always get a lot of consoles, even though my little town is not very big on Nintendo. There won't be any kids my age at the launch, just angry fathers wanting to get a Wii and get the heck out of that place so there kids are happy.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

*Sigh* I have no clue when I'll get a Wii. I'm hoping it will be sometime within the next few weeks. My birthday is ten days after launch, but I doubt I'll get it then unless I wait in line. My mom has given amazon.com her email so when they get Wiis in I might be able to get one from there. It would be cool if I could camp out somewhere though. Ah well....how I shall miss TP. For a while.

I hope that's the case with my WM. I know my town has a lot of gamers, but I don't know how pro-Nintendo they are.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

metalmassacre, just don't 'party' too much and then drop the Wii as you're leaving the store. That would suck majorly.

That happened to me once, except, I broke a phone instead, which isn't as valuable as a Wii, not even close. Even though it was a Razr...and at the time, it was more expensive than a Wii.

Waaaaait, nevermind, I just read one of your other posts, heh.

Oy vey, soy una idiota.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

Hmm....dunno. My walmart is setting up a certain number of chairs for people to wait in. I was planning on getting there at least an hour before they were set up (I have to call later this week to check on the situation). I might call around different stores to ask how quickly their preorders sold or how long people were lining up, because I'm not sure there's a ton of interest here. My Toys R Us is only going to get 5 consoles because of how the preorders sold.

I wish I had been paying attention back when preorders started.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

*Is thankful that he won't have to break out the riot gear come saturday*

I'm not doing anything real special. Me and a friend are going to pick up my Wii at around 12:00 in the afternoon on Sunday. Then with the Wii in hand its off to my place to play till we drop or something along those lines. I've never been so excited to play tennis ^^ !

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

I'm actually not that excited...It's just that I've been hearing fake release dates since 2004, and, yeah. Nothing, just picking it up and going home, and saying goodbye to all my friends and family for a few years.

EDIT: Plus I might not even be able to get it, I have absolutely nothing planned for getting one at all, and I'm the only one that will get any type of game this or next year, since all my friends aren't into that kind of stuff.

Re: Were in the Homestretch!

I'm getting the Wii for Christmas, so I'll be waiting for a month while the rest of you are playing TP.
