Wii's Memory Card...

Does the Wii save games onto the sd memory card? I thought it was meant for photos, but I thought about it and realized that the it doesn't really have another external memory storage besides the GCN memory cards, which of course, are for game cube games, not Wii games.

Yes, the SD memory cards are used to save game files.

I see no point in pictures though.

It's just supposed to be a little add on. Like Pictochat with the DS. Virtually useless, but something to do all the same.

The Wii can save games either to the built-in flash memory or an SD card. The SD card can also be used to store movies, pictures, and music which can then be displayed on your Wii.

I'm pretty sure the memory capabilities for Wii, are internal. Like all the other systems.

Both internal and External. It has 512MB of built-in flash memory. However, you can expand that with an SD card.

Well yes and no.

If you watch the video here then you see that it uses both external and internal storage to store save games and what not. It also says that SD cards will be used to expand the internal storage of the Wii.

So... is the SD card expand accesible through game data, or just the multimedia such as pictures and etc...

Both I would guess. After all SD cards are flash memory too.

Yeah. I guess that makes sense.

It just came to my mind that internal memory would be alot more expandible.

So what exactly do I need to save my TP file? Haha, cause that's pretty much all I'm concerned about now and then of course later on my SSBB and NFS files heh.

You can save your game files on the internal 512MB Flash Memory--but if you happen to run out of space for some reason, you can buy an SD memory card (which holds much more then a Flash memory card).

Someone who knows if it is possible to transfer save files to your computer via usb flash?

thanks for your help, i just hope they make things easy for us this time around haha, sd cards aren't that cheap, but if they are, indeed, universal, like you don't need a certain kind, then you can usually get a good deal at staples or best buy

If you look around on the internet you can find 2 gig sd cards for around $35.

You sure can! www.newegg.com. They have some good SD cards for cheap.
